Yesterday really was a worst case scenario for Wazzu for signing day. It's one thing when you're losing players to bigger name schools, it's another when they go to an Ivy League. I guess he didn't really think that he had a future in football outside of college, which is probably a good decision.

Guy can do a lot worse than getting an Ivy League education paid for. Pullman isn't exactly the middle of the world's networking hub for his future.

I thought the ivy league didn't offer athletic scholarships.

Officially they don't.

What they do though is have huge endowments that generate large pools of funds to help students for a variety of reasons. They use a combination of family need, geographic diversity, first generation Ivy League, etc. etc. to come up the grants to make the education free or close to it.

They are able to do this because they do the same thing with a large number of not athletes as well. People talk about the expense of getting an Ivy League education but unless you come from a wealthy family or just aren't trying very hard very few students pay close to the posted cost of education at those schools. A fairly high percentage pay close to nothing. The hard part is getting in.

Wow, didn't expect Dartmouth. Guess grades weren't an issue.
