'15 JC S Afolabi Laguda (Signed to COLORADO)

He could see a lot of playing time for us. Bigger than some of our LBs, likes to hit. He doesn't look like he's super fast, probably what kept some of the competition away but he has a nice burst of quickness to the play. He looks custom built to play against PAC12 offenses.

Woohoo! Great addition and welcome to the Black and Gold! This also solidifies the Buffs as one of the tops in terms of names in the defensive backfield... Ahkello, Chidobe, Afolabi, Tedric... I'm liking it!

Ringo article posted in "Newsroom" says 3 years to play 2; OP says 3 years to play 3. Which is it? I assume AllBuffs knows better than Ringo?

Any idea of his 40 speed?

Average speed, but that is rarely a good indicator of how good a player is/will be. Turn on the tape and you'll see a kid who was asked to play a traditional FS position in multiple looks (Cover 2, Cover 3, Man Free, etc.), as well as man to man in a "hard" (jam) technique. From a FS standpoint, his film shows that he turns and runs pretty well, tracks the ball in the air, is OK at the timing of a PBU, but most importantly, he does his job. From a M2M standpoint, he seems to be able to run with receivers pretty well and his size and length allows him to get a decent jam off the line. He also seems to have pretty good instincts and tackles well. Should compete with Thompson, Mosley and White for a starting spot next year.

I'll admit that I'll be disappointed if he's not starting alongside TT. White showed promise when he was asked to start, but Mosely was a weak spot.
