CU is recruiting and is expected to offer. Kobayashi is probably the #1 player from Hawai'i' this cycle.

Hopefully Sanchez and him are close.

Additionally Sam Taulealea is on the St Louis staff and he still thinks highly of the university and program, even with his unfair early exit from the program.

Put up some nice numbers at the Rivals camp. Nice vertical jump.

One of the common themes with programs that have been successful at finding athletes seems to be that they put a lot more stock in a standing vertical and the cone drill than they do in a 40 time.

Explosiveness is key

Yep. Explosiveness and short-area quickness matter a lot more in football than raw speed (although often a fast guy is explosive and agile, too).

The 49ers used to incorporate boxing into film study back in the Bill Walsh days to emphasize how vital it was to beat the opponent to the punch. You don't necessarily have to punch harder or be bigger than the RB you're trying to tackle or the lineman across from you if you explode first. Pretty much every individual battle on every football play is decided by that.

Kobayashi decision soon

Three-star receiver Drew Kobayashi of Honolulu (Hawaii) St. Louis has a visit set to California in two weeks and could make a decision shortly thereafter. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound wideout has scholarship offers from the Golden Bears, Hawaii, Washington State and Weber State, but has been hearing from Notre Dame and Oregon lately. If the Fighting Irish and Ducks don't join the chase soon, Cal could be in line to add another weapon to its Air Raid offense.

Hawaiian pipeline to Boulder ain't what it used to be.
