Visiting CU on September 8th. No offer that I've seen, but I've heard from a few different people that CU is high on him. I know @BuffStampede is as well. BIG kid. Decent handle, nice shot. Comparisons to Draymond Green, Kris Jenkins (Villanova) and Adam & Zisk talked about him being a little like Big Baby Glen Davis. Personally, with his agility, I think he's a better shooting Thomas Gipson - former KSU big man who was a blast to watch.

He's 17 and had to repeat his freshman year so technically he's a 5th year senior. That however has made him ineligible to play this year under CIF rules even though he didn't play basketball his first year of school. Hat tip to @Buffnik as he compiled most of the info on this. Hopefully he posts in this thread so you can all like him. He's earned it.

Anyone know what the level of competition is for this school? Kids he's going against aren't exactly worldbeaters in the video.

Brand new mixtape:

The idea of having a guy who looks like an offensive tackle but brings a nice crossover and a sweet jumper is beyond allsome. Excellent passer and I love the baby hook he uses on the interior when shielding off the defender with his massive size. It would be so much damn fun to see Battey wearing the black & gold.

Talked to Evan last night, he said he gets the Tractor Traylor a lot, but he's more Draymond Green. He said he's trying to trim down and working on his shot. Sounded ilke he's trying to get a visit set up to Purdue.

Must have meant September and Adam pointed out signing starts is in November. He said he'd check on date, but Battey sounded up in the air. Noob basketball writer over here.

“[The Buffs] say they like how I post up and how I can actually play on the perimeter. They like to play their four-man from the elbows and operate. Coach Boyle said I could fit into that really well since that’s where I play. I play with passion.”

Battey receptive to CU interest

Thanks Kyle. Glad to hear he's working on his weight. I think that would really help him.

He has quite a few other visits to go, and we still have Chargois visiting. I don't expect any news on this front for a month at the soonest.

Had a great time on CU official, loved Boulder. Close with Boyle. Sounds like Boyle was texting Battey from Ann Arbor. I talked to Battey when he was in Miami, he's going to Purdue next weekend. Doesn't sound like he's in a hurry to pick a school. Battey did refer to Tyler Bey as his "boy Tyler," so that's good.

I'm never going to worry about one of Tad Boyles players being out of shape. He will be in the exact shape Tad wants him to be in.

Tad was at Villa Park yesterday to visit Battey. Here's a link to that interview on his official to CU. Like the Buffs chances, unless Purdue blows him out of the water this weekend. As someone who once lived in Indiana, Boulder is where it's at.

“[The Buffs] want me to do it on my own terms. If I want to go there, I’ll go there. I wanted to lay all my options out and see how everybody recruited me,” Battey said.

“Boulder, it was over the top. I absolutely loved it. I didn’t know what to expect, I came in and I loved it there.”
