'17 FL OLB Carson Wells (Signed to COLORADO)

Bushnell is in the sticks! Kids is 2 years younger than many kids in his class. Barely old enough to get a DL.

Either the competition is weak or that dude is a man child. Hope its the latter. Welcome to the Black and Gold.

Sweet breakfast news. Welcome to COLORADO young Man. You will love our dry and bugless environment.

Good looking prospect. Redshirt him and could be a real nice player in a couple seasons.
Grey shirt first, then redshirt; he'd have two years in the program and still be one of the younger players on the roster! Likely to play at 245 lbs. +
Two stars for a 16 yr old? That's the real deal. He looks older though, hinting at physical maturity.
Welcome, young man!

Hard to believe that he will only turn 18 right before his first spring training at CU. And after his first redshirt (or gray shirt) season. No info on a gray shirt season; just hope CU won't need to use a 17 year old on the field.

If he did gray shirt then redshirt...he will be tearing up the opposing team as a redshirt freshman I'd guess. Mature and lots of practice with CU.

Interesting that he's listed as an OLB when in the majority of those highlights he was playing inside.

Got me wondering, too. I think there's flexibility here depending on how his body develops. Could end up in a number of roles, including what we see from Gamboa, McCartney, Gilbert or Coleman. Kid's a player and it will just have to sort itself out.

From his coach this preseason:
“We’re going to play him at the defensive end position, we run the 3-3 stack defense. His freshman year he played linebacker, the last two seasons he’s played defensive end,” Lawrence said.
“He can play. When Carson came out to visit he worked with coach Leavitt at linebacker. Carson is a big kid who can actually run. He’s at high 4.6, low 4.7 kid.”
Story: Carson Wells' coach talks a lot about Carson Wells

Size, speed, hits hard, and always seems to be around the ball. He could be a good one.

I missed this commit somehow. This kid is lightning in a bottle, wow! He's incredibly under rated, a 2 star? Really? He robbed that RB of a touchdown and scored his own and then he chased the other one down. Quick, fast, smart. Hell yeah.
