Looks pretty fun, but my main issue is that I prefer my RPG style character building, which GTA historically doesn't do (it was my main reason for not loving Red Dead Redemption). Have they fleshed that out at all?

It's between this and NHL '14 for me. How long is this game actually playable?

I'm getting it tomorrow, can't wait. The story line looks kind of weak, but at least you get your choice of one of the characters. I'll be playing more online this time.

I don't think that GTA 5 is a level up type game, usually you simply get better stuff and unlock parts of the map as you complete parts of the story. It looks like if you do weel in Online play, it earns you "respect" in singleplayer, whatever that means.

For whatever reason, GTA has never done it for me. I know the games are absolutely phenomenal, and the production values are great. I've tried getting into both III and IV and just didn't really get hooked into it.

Thats where I'm at, but I loved Just Cause 2, so who knows.

The leveling up and the combat are my main gripes

Vice City was my favorite. The controls and graphics suck looking back now. (I downloaded it on PSN)

Same for me. I like the games and enjoy playing them, but I've never finished a GTA game. I just get bored and start running from the cops and doing other random crap.

Red Dead I thought I beat the game and was just doing missions on the farm and just gave up. My care level for the games just don't get high enough I guess?

I never finish games and pretty much just stick to multilayer. Even on ncaa football games I pretty much just play the allbuffs dynasty.

I'm usually the type to play the games through, though. I've played the Metal Gear games a disturbing number of times, for example. But when it comes to these open world type games (GTA, RDR, Infamous) I never finish them.

Just found out my pregnant wife bought it for me today on her lunch break. Yeah, that's badass.

I remember wondering why this game hadn't come out in a while. Good timing, I've grown tired of Madden and COD.

This key is to kill the hooker afterwards and get your money back.

I usually like to play any GTA game on random at the start and just get my killing/running over people/causing havoc appetite filled before getting into the game proper. I actually finished GTA IV and was glad I did. Great stuff.

Red Dead was OUTSTANDING and was probably the best story ever. Just a wonderful game all around.

Will wait til Oct. to get GTA V but I know I'll love it.

My gosh how long does this game take to download at the start? Seems like I've been waiting to play this for 15 minutes now.

    The map is beyond huge.

Picking it up tonight. I knew there was an 18 hole golf course, I didn't know that there was a triathlon, surfing or tennis. There's also a stock market that responds to events in the game.

Wow this game is big. I did the mandatory beginning mission to start, but then I just roamed around/committed senseless violence/looked for secrets (there is an alien base somewhere, and bigfoot can be sighted). Apparently the map that comes with the game has hidden messages exposed to UV light.

And you do level up during the game by just running, jumping, driving, shooting, etc. Very Might & Magic esque.
