Are We Done?

with gray shirting? I know that we had two OLs from last class that did, but are we getting to the point where our recruits don't need that extra year?

Not done, never will be done - even Bama and tOSU have gray shirts.

It seems like this program now has stockpiled OL players coming up every year from the colorful shirts (gray and red). The biggest team question coming into this season (aside from QB health) was the strength and depth of the OL. That issue is not completely resolved, but please take a look at the Buffs' offensive rushing stats vs. most of the PAC12.

As long as gray shirting gives kids an extra year to build and mature it is going to be an option worth looking at for big guys.

Our recruiting is improving enough that we will see more backs who are physically ready to play but the linemen, even the top ones don't come out of HS ready to line up against 22 year old men.

It is also a useful strategy when you get HS kids who have injury issues to get straightened out.
