Has there been any pressure to bring back the old beaver used up to 2013? That new abomination just doesn't cut it.

Sorry for the big pics... Anyway I like the new one and the classic one. The middle one is what we had during our most recent success so alot of people prefer it. I don't.

From oregonstate.edu:
Team colors
Orange and black became the official school colors in the mid-1880s. Until then, Oregon State, known then as Corvallis College, was represented by navy blue. A faculty committee appointed by President John Bloss voted to replace blue with orange, Pantone 165 orange to be specific.

So...Orange is the only official color. Black is not a color but all colors together and white is the absence of color.

The link from the the Nike re-brand is for athletics and they use the orange, black, white with bronze as a very limited accent.

As far as the acronyms go...

Oregon State University: founded 1868
Ohio State University: founded 1870
Oklahomo State University: founded 1890

So Oregon State is the REAL OSU. The others are johnny-come-latlys.

HTH.

You've too clever by half.

The claim on ownership of OSU based on the university's establishment date is moot if the original name was Corvallis College. Why not designate ownership by population or football national championships?

How about Ouazzou? That one isn't taken.

About your claim that black is an absence of color, and therefore is not a color: Well that is a physics answer based on properties of light, but it's not a complete answer when you contemplate pigment and art theory, where black can be generated through chemical properties. So at best, your assertion that black is not a color is, at best, a half truth.

Anyhoo, my ouazzou friend with the covered hand, welcome to Allbuffs. YAHTHU.

Isn't ouazzou what you call the stain left on pavement by roadkill?

Seems appropriate.

To the OP: Was in a SLC bar about 5 years ago and met 2 gals who were Beavs. They had some sort of fan site or Beav Blog. Name was sort of a suggestive Beaver thing. Do you know who I'm talking about and is it still around?

Oh, and if we can keep this up, you'll find CU fans to be the most obnoxious assholes you've ever dealt with.

UTerus fans take exception to that, there are no bigger assholes than in Texas, you'll just have to deal with being second to Texas in that dept

I have never heard this until recently and I refuse to believe that those effete turd-sniffers had anything to do with it.

Well, UConn and UCalif both use UC.
Kentucky has UK
Oregon is UO

It makes sense to me why they did that way as a conference.

So I'll just keep asking questions, I guess:

Since UO has Junction City locked down, when you're looking for small-town chicks, do you cruise the high school in Philomath, or do you head up to Monmouth for some WOSC ladies?

Dear Beav:

How is it possible to be a university for over 100+ years without ever winning in football?

Ok, that one was mean-spirited. It is the 10 years of total ineptitude of CU football and the bourbon talking.

Let's try a different one:

If you are what you eat, is that good or bad? And, would Kant or Nietzsche approve? From an economic perspective, would Beav-dom be trickle down or more socialist in nature. I am asking for a friend.

Beaver:
Do you identify as a Fred Meyer shopper, or are you old-school Bi-mart?

Follow-on question:

Is "setting choker" a major at OSU, or is it a minor in the forestry program.
