BCS Standings

www.dailymail.com there's a few articles about the Pitt/WVU game last night and only mentions the Orange Bowl. One of my friends from back home is a huge WVU fan (he gives a sh!tload of money to the fb program, his son has Coach Rod's office named for him), he made reservations for Miami this morning, had to cancel his NOLA ones.

Thats a crap shoot with an at large team that just lost their last game to Pitt. Assuming LSU will vault ahead of the rest of pack from 7th place is a huge guess. I think UGA or KU is still gonna be in the top 4 or 5 when the dust settles on Monday night.

Then again we already have a result in the Coaches Poll.

Rank Team (first-place votes) Record Points Last week
1. Ohio State (46) 11-1 1,469 3
2. LSU (11) 11-2 1,418 7
3. Oklahoma (2) 11-2 1,331 8
4. Georgia 10-2 1,277 4
5. Virginia Tech 11-2 1,242 5 (tie)
6. Southern California 10-2 1,227 9
7. Missouri 11-2 1,104 2
8. Kansas 11-1 1,099 5 (tie)
9. West Virginia 10-2 1,010 1
10. Hawaii (1) 12-0 994 10

BTW, not really trying to call you out. Just curious where you saw that info. The debate is enjoyable.

I don't see how UGA, VT, or KU would be getting screwed if LSU jumped them.

nor do i.

I don't disagree with that sentiment either. However, there is still a computer component and two human polls. The coaches already made LSU #2 and thats 33% (I believe) of the BCS. Once the Harris comes out and the computers update then we will know. I think the Harris results will probably be witheld until tommorow.

The computers should update today but I don't expect them to change much since there were no lopsided victories yesterday. I think they are all averages so Idle teams have an advantage by not playing if one assumes its some average based on stats divided by games played. My guess is that the computer component will change the least

Wow. Look at VT. All those polls still factor in SOS

Billingsley, Anderson Hester, Colley Matrix, Ken Massey, and Peter Wolfe have not updated yet.

Contractually they won't until the ratings are officially released later. I know Billingsley fairly well and sort of know Massey.

My bad. I linked old data from the BCS website that said it'd be announced monday night at 8pm on the bcs selection show.

This confirms it will be today on Fox

BCS Selection Show on FOX
Find out who is going where, as the complete BCS schedule is announced during the BCS Selection show on FOX. Tune in this Sunday at 8 p.m. ET to find out who is going to the Sugar Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl and the BCS National Championship Game.

In 2001 most of them came out and I put them into an Excel spread sheet and came to the conclusion the Buffs would come up short. But I believe I was missing two of the polls and that narrowed the margin for us. Oh well. Too bad we didn't go 10-2 this year. :smile2:

LSU is undefeated in all 4 quarters of all 12 regular season games-
both defeats took 3 OT's to happen-

Yes- LSU deserves to play in the championship game-

a loss is a loss no matter what time of the game it occurs.... even in overtime to an unranked team in your own house.....

so in other words if LSU is that good, why did they go to overtime? why not win in 4 quarters??

Scoreboard! :devil2:

you haven't heard me lobbying for the Sooners. The TTech loss took any chance we had and stomped it in the red dirt of Oklahoma. Up till then I thought OU stood an honest chance if they won out. The CU loss wasnt all that bad considering we were #3 again when we loss to TTech.

hehe. crazy times? i've heard (from the wvu camp) they're going to the orange, while miamibuff has heard it'd be ku. oh well, we find out in about an hour.

I told you KU would go to the Orange Bowl

Coach Dan Hawkins is the man. In the final coaches poll he voted LSU #1, OU #2 and ohio state #3.....

unlike coaches like Bobby Bowden and Howard "the drunk" schellenberger who still voted Mizzou at #4 and OU at #10 and #8....
