    Got this from another board.

Kansas State 6-4 (4-2) (Remaining: vs. Missouri, @ Nebraska)
Nebraska 6-3 (3-2) (Remaining: @ Kansas, vs. Kansas State, @ Colorado)
Colorado 3-6 (2-3) (Remaining: @ Iowa State, @ Oklahoma State, vs. Nebraska)
Iowa State 5-4 (2-4) (Remaining: vs. Colorado, @ Missouri)
Missouri 5-4 (1-4) (Remaining: @ Kansas State, vs. Iowa State, vs. Kansas)
Kansas 5-4 (1-4) Mathematically eliminated from winning the North. (Remaining: vs. Nebraska, @ Texas, vs. Missouri)

If we win out we can take the North. How freaking sad is that? However, we need help.

It'll likely come down to the KSU-NU game, and even if NU wins that one it might not be enough because NU is likely to lose 2 of their other remaining 3.

The possibilities are endless as to who could win this divison.

KSU and NU are the only teams that control their own fate.

the simplest combination is for us to win out and KSU to lose out...that would have us at 5-3, KSU at 4-4, and Nebraska would have a minimum of 3 conference losses and we would have the head-to-head tiebreaker with them...I shudder to think of all the combinations that exist if there are 3 or more teams finished at 4-4 in conf. play...

I'd rather win out and have KSU go to the B12C game, because I have zero confidence we could beat Texas in a rematch.

Yeah, we'd get a bowl game and wouldn't have to face Texas in the CCG at an embarrassing 6-6.

Also, if you have 6 wins but a losing record are you still bowl eligible?

Interesting thought, I'm not sure. My guess would be no.

You have be 0.500 at worst. Before the 12th game 5-6 would net you no bowl

I would love to match up with Texas in the CCG. We pull the upset (not likely, but possible) and we are in a BCS game. Lose and we go to the toilet bowl (and yes, 6-7 is bowl eligible). We dont play in the CCG and we are in the toilet bowl anyway. No risk.

Oh my, I can see it now. 6-6 Colorado takes down undefeated Texas in the Big 12 championship game. Writers nationwide discuss the stupidity of the situation and urge the NCAA to put Texas in the BCS bowl anyway. Texans unite, demanding they be crowned champions anyway.

Gotta score on our defense though, and right now that's going to be hard for anyone. Granted that could change.

Yeah, 7-9 and obviously those were just field goals that they scored. I don't care what anyone says, we shot ourselves in the foot on that game. They didn't "create" 8 turnovers like they like to say they did. They won the game, can't take that away from them, but we made an assload of mistakes in that game.

I'm just saying not to get too confident. You guys still have issues, mainly on offense and those are big issues. And you handed OU it's 4th loss.

Put an average offense on your team and you guys woudl be MNC contenders this year. But with the offense you do have, just about anybody has a chance to stay in the game with you and win.

Well, they don't have to score much given your lack of O.

I really believe KSU is going to win the North, but after last night I give you guys a puncher's chance.

I just said about a week ago on here, give us last years offense with this years defense and we're a top 5 team. Oh what could've been............ I'm not confident at all right now, our defense is the only thing keeping us in games. I said to my wife last night, "glad we stopped them and made them go three and out, not going to matter though cause our offense can't do ****!"

Nebraska over Oklahoma was a big win for North respectability. CU's win over Texas A&M didn't hurt either.

Frankly, the best thing that could happen for the North (and the future recruiting of CU and Nebraska) would be:

    - CU runs the table, including a road win at Oklahoma State, and gets bowl eligible.
    - NU wins 2 or its last 3 to go 8-4 and take the North, only loss to CU, and their defense makes it a very close B12C game versus Texas.

With NU's win last night it's now even more likely that the North will come down to the KSU-NU game.

KSU needs to beat Mizzou. Then they need to either

    A) Beat Nebraska
    or
    B) Have NU lose to KU, CU.

At this point I think B is more likely.

I think we should just punt on first down every possesion against NEb. then let their offense give us the lead.

I can't believe CU is still in 3d place in the B12N. As others have observd, the B12 N is weak, weak, weak....

Bill Snyder is clearly the best coach in the division, however. Man, I hate admitting that. Some old fart who remembers Nile Kinnock personally, is more capable than anybody else in the division.:keule:

I believe the rule is 6 wins through the regular season, which is 12 games long.
