Big Surprise

hehe you said penis. I'm 26, and I actually do laugh at "penis," it's usually pretty funny.

Dong...Dong is pretty funny too.

BillDawg I agree that it would be nice if the stadiums were all a little more child friendly. But I can assure that we aren't the only one's like this. I wouldn't take a kid to a bronco game on a dare. I have been to games in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, California, Florida, Arizona, Iowa, Nebraska, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, Massachusetts, the lovely state of Georgia and some other places I can't remember. Both college and pro, football, baseball, hockey and basketball. I will tell you that with very rare exceptions none of them were places for kids.

One notable exception is the Air Force Academy. If you really like CO and want to come back out. Go down to an AFA game. Not nearly as big an affair as a CU game (or certainly an SEC game) but a great day wth a very family friendly environment.

A thread about class isn't complete until highhorseaholic himself makes an appearance. You can't expect to take your child to a place packed full of 50,000+ people, many of which have been drinking, most of which are emotionally invested in what is happening on the field, and not hear any bad words.

You're right, but the point of my posts were, y'all were callin gout ALL Nebraska parents as classless, yet, think nothing of 500 people or however many chanting **** you or **** Georgia. It's totally hypocritical. ANd yes, any team , that has whole sections standing and chanting **** over and over, is juvenile and classless. If you dont' see that, I don't know what to tell you.

I totally agtree with you. I certainly don't think it shoul dbe some pristine, church like atmosphere, but I think it smacks of hypocrisy to call out someone for a stupidity around a child, when they're guilty of it, albeit in anopther fashion.

It's not our job to point out our own failures. That's everybody else's job. It's our job to point out how utterly useless, toothless, classless, and in many cases homeless and jobless most fusker fans are. It's what we do. We're good at it. Don't try this at home. We're professionals.

Well, a) comparing all of us shouting "****" around a kid to a parent taping that kid to a wall seems a bit out of line but I'll work with it and b) Nebraska sucks. All of it.

Next time I'm thinking about saying **** when a kid is near, I'll refrain and instead tape him to a wall, since apparently both are equal offenses.

I get that you're talking about the hypocrisy of labeling an entire group of people based on the actions of a few, but *ebraska is a rival of ours and we talk **** about them even if it is unjustified. All *ebraskans are horrible ****s who beat their kids and bang their animals. That's just the way it is.

Mr thinks Billdawg might have another strain of red in him....

That's what I'm trying to do, lol.

Well, I agree with useless, and you should probably add clueless, but most have teeth. (I too am a professional),lol

Now them's fighting words.LOL I am THE ANti-hukser. But it was said all people fom Nebraska, which I am one, and that's a big difference. I only taped my kids to the wall, after they reached the age of 10, so they were strong enough to work their way free after awhile.

First time I'd seen it was here. Ironic, that is has been used everywhere I guess. Still not real classy, IMO.

You have just tapped into something.

For decades, the CU fan base has been criticized by our rival Nebraska as not being classy. The word "classy" comes with much baggage in these parts.

On the Internet boards, CU fan jokes about not being classy as a badge of honor. We throw pissbombs and nails filled with marshmellos (yep. nails filled with marshmellos!) at rival fans. We push old white haired ladies in wheelchairs down flights of stairs. We slash tires and throw batteries and work very hard at preserving our dubious status as the worst fans in college football that has been awarded to us by a Nebraska fanbase who nominated themselves as the classist fans in football.

The reality is that younger CU fans don't get many opportunities to tailgate anywhere but Boulder or Denver for the annual instate CSU game. Unlike most colleges in the US, Colorado is 500 miles away from it's closest conference rival.

To put that in perspective, imagine how different UGA would be if your closest rival were LSU? That's the kind of distance we're dealing with.

Other than CSU played at a neutral NFL stadium, our other OOC schedule are going to be in recruiting hotbeds in California or east of the Mississippi. With CU 500-1000+ miles from the rest of the football world, our students and recent grads tend to have little idea about being a good host because many of us are a rare guests to other campuses. We haven't necessarily come to full terms with tailgate karma.

There's no doubt CU games get a little raunchy with the f*** 'em up, f*** 'em up, Go CU cheer. There are lots of young kids far, far from home who look at football Saturday as an excuse to get drunk and stupid and belligerent.

But at the end of the day CU fans aren't the worst fans in college football. Nor do we pride ourselves on striving to be the classiest.

Interesting and probably spot on. Unfortunately, it won't get any easier, distance wise, when y'all go to the Pac -10

Not so fast, sailor.

We don't need to travel to the Pac 12 because we are already there.

With 45K alumni and their families in California, the roadies up and down the left coast are going to be easier to get to than a trip back up to Boulder.

Besides, the Pac 12 has some locations that are night and day better than Stillwater, Lubbock, Manhattan, Ames, Waco, Columbia, Norman, Lawrence, Lincoln and Collie Station. Most Buffs would rather spend their discretionary travel money going some place beautiful.

No but the logistics and affordability greatly improve...plenty of affordable flights from Denver to Salt Lake City, Phoenix (Tempe), LA, the Bay Area, and Seattle, and most of the other schools in the Pac-10 are just an easy drive from a gateway city (exception, Pullman, WA)...compare this with trying to go to Lubbock, Ames, Manhattan, Columbia, etc.

I'm not trying to broad brush anyone...I just want to know "is it classy"?

The bar by which this question is measured begins right here:

Someone call social services. This kid needs a new home.

I was too nice the first go around. These people need to be taken out to pasture and shot. What ****ing pieces crap are these that they are going to tape up a two year old for their amusement? Then to see the picture of them taping his sippy cup to the wall? Why would it possibly be funny to do this to your son?

I guess we can thank the Nubs for giving this country a potential Ted Bundy.

I'd much rather have to deal with stadium issue, then have to explain some of the commercials they put on during games. The networks are worst. They seem to need to put their most sex and violence-filled ads (usually previews) on during games.

So, the guy in the euro-swimmer seems close to totally bad taste, but the guy to his left and L rear also have heavy gold chains. Maybe it's like a convention of these people, and they all think they're stylin'. Probably would laugh their asses off at a guy wearing his 1990 jersey and Buff hat.

I begin to guess what'll happen in mizzou:

Go Buffs

After reading this thread, I've decided to home school my children--it's the only way to protect them from them dreaded curse words which lead to pregnancy and drug use; look it up...it's a fact.

If I'm defending that screaming obsenities in front of a a bunch of kids is okay, I'm probably on the wrong side of the argument. It shouldn't happen, unless our coach makes a ****ty call, or if a player ****s up a tackle. But again, I can't defend it.

However, life is what it is, and it's far better to prepare our children to deal with the realities of the world, and teach them to make good decisions regarding those things they might encounter at football stadium on a Saturday afternoon in the Fall than it is to attempt to shield them from it.

And whether you disagree with me and adopt the "shield" philosophy, or you're in my corner and feel it's best to "inform, educate and prepare" it's still better than taping your child to a wall. Which, by the way, all people from nebraska do.

I can't tell if that is *ebraska red or Georgia red...

Also, googling "bad parenting" is pretty interesting.

I don't know why this one was on there.

Tape? Forget the tape! They dressed that kid in a god damned fusker diaper! That is the real crime.

If we're so okay with yelling f&^k in public, how come we can't even post the word on this message board?

Seriously. Is the board worried about sponsors? Are these circumstances now different with membership dues rolling in? I'll be happy to pony up if I can can say ****.

How does shaggybevo get away with it?

Not sure. They also have a porn-friendly forum. Not many rules over there.

EDIT: I'm not positive, but I think it is because they don't use google advertising. They sell their own ad spots so they get to choose what they allow on the site and the businesses who decide the material is okay will pay for it. They get a ton of traffic on that site so it is a lot easier for them to pull it off.
