Boise State-Nevada Game Thread

MISS!! LOL

Game is a classic one. Freaking classic game no matter who wins now.

And we had 40 seconds on the clock before the half today... Just ran speedy twice up the middle and got nothing.

Boise had 9 seconds and got down to the 10 yard line.

Boise abandoned the running game in the 4th quarter and OT, while Nevada chewed up the yardage on the ground.

it will win the game for them in OT.

Eat a dick Boise State... you don't deserve to play for the national title ever... you can't even win one of the three games per year you face actual competition!!! Come play in a real conference and you'll get what you deserve as a 7-5 team.

Awesome. Glad to see Boise get beat. Anyone see the guy who had to be held back by his coach as they were leaving the field? Loved that.

this is a bad result for anyone who wanted a playoff... this is a good result for comedic value

If Auburn loses the SEC CCG, we could still get a Oregon/TCU championship game... That may still piss off the powers that prevent a playoff right?

I never thought a Boise or TCU in the title game would lead to a playoff. First of all, it would completely support he BCS system's argument that it is "accessible" to the small schools, thus ending the potential lawsuits/anti-trust claims.

Second, if any changes did come out of it, it would be the rankings criteria to favor SOS even more in the future so the big boys don't get outranked by undefeated mid-majors.

Third, any "seismic" changes would probably be the ending of the #1 vs #2 title game BCS process, and a return to the old big money big-conference affiliated bowls with no clear cut "championship" game matchup.

All of those things would happen before a playoff would. Because the big money schools, boosters, and bowls control the process, not the NCAA or the fans.

I saw this comment on the ESPN user discussion about the game and it made me laugh. BSU fan is complaining about the height of the goalposts.

Not trying to make excuses as I'm not even a Boise fan, and they should have had it put away before then.... but all schools should be required to have the same field goal posts. Period.

lol.. just like every football field is required to have the same color.. oh wait!

Since the Pac-10 is short of bowl teams, wonder if they can get a Utah vs Boise State or Utah vs Nevada matchup in the Las Vegas Bowl now?

BSU squashed anyone looking at them last summer, right in the midst of the potential conference mega shakeup. They do not want to go anywhere. Underneath it all, they know they cannot survive with a constant diet of tough competition. They would no longer be top dog. As it is, they like to play the "no one will play us because they are scared" card while at the same time demanding $1.2 mil to travel to a school and offering around $600-$700k in return for a home and home (like they did to Nebraska). Knowing power teams are not in it to lose tons of cash, this is how they justify their scheme of "no one will play us". Time to get a clue. No one is scared. They do not have to bleed money to play you, either.

If they want respect, it is time for them to go the road that Colorado took in the late 80s and through the 90s. Homes for them. A home in return. Just play the power teams and stop throwing up numbers you know will prevent a deal.
