BOULDER – So, this team is pretty good, eh?
The Colorado Buffaloes welcomed in the BYU Cougars to the Coors Events Center and flexed their giant offensive muscles all over them, scoring over 80 points for the eighth consecutive game and over 90 for the third time this season, winning the game 92-83.
George King poured in 23 points on nine shots, Josh Scott added 22 of his own and the combination of Wesley Gordon, Dom Collier, Xavier Talton and Tory miller combined for 34 points as the Buffaloes put together a wire to wire victory.
The nine-point victory indicates a closer game than the play on the court showed. Aside from an 18-3 run, put together by the Cougars midway through the second half, the Buffaloes dominated the game in just about every facet. Colorado held BYU to 39 percent shooting and 31 percent from distance while shooting 46 percent from the field and 41 percent from behind the arc themselves. The Buffs also out-rebounded the cougars, outscored them from the bench and outscored them in the paint.
This was just the latest in a long line of impressive performances from this year’s Colorado Buffaloes, who have shined in every game excluding a too-close-for-comfort win over Nebraska-Omaha and people across the country are starting to take notice.
Colorado also sitting at 8-1 after today's home win over BYU. Played Iowa State tough in the opener. Josh Scott is a baller. 22 & 10 today.

It’s never too early to talk tournament resume and the Buffs are starting to build a very respectable one. While expectations were low coming into the season, things have changed quickly, the tournament can now be the outside expectation for this team.

PLAYER OF THE GAME
George King
You score 23 points on nine shots, there’s a good chance you’re going to grab player of the game honors. King was efficient, explosive and extraordinary showing off all facets of his game including his ever-improved three-point shot which he made four of. The King also showed, once again, that he rises to the occasion, having a couple of his best games in a couple of the Buffs biggest games of the year in Auburn and now BYU.
King deserves a lot of the credit for the newly raised expectations for the Buffs.
QUOTE OF THE GAME
While they certainly weren’t happy when it was happening, Buffs fans will be happy to know Tad Boyle took credit for not putting a stop to the Cougars run in the second half. Boyle has, many times now, taken credit for his shortcomings last year and admitted they cost the team. Buffs fans will hope that Boyle will pull the timeout trigger a little sooner going forward.
