BOULDER – The University of Colorado lacrosse team begins a three-game road trip on Sunday, March 22, first traveling to Ann Arbor to battle the Michigan Wolverines. The first draw is set for 1 p.m. MT.

The Buffaloes improved to 3-2 on the season after defeating New Hampshire, 10-9 on Tuesday (March 17). Freshman Darby Kiernan continues to impress during her debut season. She led the Buffs in scoring with three goals in the game against the Wildcats to record her second career hat trick.

The Wolverines enter the contest at 5-3 on the season and have won five of their last six games. Michigan is led by sophomore Kim Coughlan, who has recorded a team-high 23 points with 20 goals and three assists in 2015.

Sunday’s game will mark the first meeting between the two young programs. Michigan is also in its second year as a Division I sport.

Good luck to the LAX team this afternoon!

Looks like Marquette is a common opponent both have already played, with CU having defeated them 13-5 in Boulder on February 14th, while Michigan just beat them 10-7 Friday on the road in Milwaukee. So, looks to me like this should be a good competitive game.

Buffs were down 11-7 with 3:30 left and came back to tie it at 12

Michigan ties it with 5 seconds left in the first OT. They have to play another OT anyway, so not that huge of a goal.

Chance for UM with 3 seconds left but no good. We're headed to a sudden death OT.

Buffs almost give it away and now a UM player has to sit out. Buffs have the man advantage.

Darby Kiernan gets the ball in front of the net and GGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buffs win it in overtime 14-13. Buffs were down 5 goals with 10 minutes left and were able to come back.

Great comeback Buffs! (I left for a walk when they were down; may have to do it more often for luck.)
