EUGENE, Ore. - University of Colorado sophomore Carrie Verdon wrapped up the Buffaloes competition at the NCAA Track and Field Championships with a 17th place finish in the 5,000-meter run on the final day at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon, Saturday afternoon.
Verdon recorded a 16:28.60 time, her third fastest mark of the spring season. Verdon’s best time in the 5,000-meters this season was a personal best 15:59.83 at the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford back on May 4 where she finished 13th overall.
Marielle Hall of Texas won Saturday’s race with a 15:35.11 time, followed by Stanford’s Aisling Cuffe (15:37.74), and two-time defending champion Abbey D’Agostino of Dartmouth, was third (15:43.54).
