Colorado's Oct. 2 victory over Georgia should have served as the "breakthrough moment" that propelled the Buffaloes to great things.

Seriously? If hearing motivational expressions such as "bring your lunch pail", "get your horns out", "cinch it up" doesn't bring confidence for the team.. I don't know what does.

Isn't "confidence men" the long version of "con men"?

I'm not sure the play on words wasn't intentional.

i say the UGA game could have been a breakthrough to some pretty OK things and a bowl bid. we were still going to get housed by Mizzou and OU...the home losses to BU and Tech were the final nail. but, even winning those i shy away from the word "great".

and agree, it's a play on words. intentional. not funny, relevant, or clever but intentional.

Confidence is definitely the problem. No way it can be coaching.
