NDIANAPOLIS—A full team of 12 University of Colorado ski team members are part of the 174 student-athletes nationwide that qualified for the 2015 NCAA Skiing Championships, to be held March 11-14 in Lake Placid, N.Y., with St. Lawrence University hosting, the NCAA announced late Monday.

Colorado is one of just eight teams to qualify a full allotment of skiers and one of just seven that will be in Lake Placid with 12 skiers competing. All six schools from the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association, which include Alaska Anchorage, Denver, Montana State, New Mexico and Utah along with the Buffs, have qualified full teams.

Only Vermont from the EISA and Northern Michigan from the CCSA also qualified full teams, and with the CCSA only fielding Nordic teams, Vermont is the only other school outside the RMISA that fielded a full 12 skier team.

I'm not sure how great some of these other teams are, but I think that we have a good chance at a national title.

Been #1 in the polls and then won RMISA. Top-ranked Buffs took down #2 Denver, #3 Utah and #5 New Mexico in that. If the team skis like it's capable of, we'll see another national championship this year.

It looks like our main competition from outside the conference is #4 Vermont and tie #5 Dartmouth.

East coast teams tend to win when the championships are back, western teams when they are in the west. This isn't universal - CU does have some east coast NCs, but it will come down to are the snow conditions familiar enough for the western teams, IMO.
