The Colorado men's basketball team will be without coach Jeff Bzdelik again tonight, CU athletic director Mike Bohn said in a radio interview Monday.

Bzdelik continues to attend to his ailing mother, Bohn said. Assistant coach Steve McClain, a former head coach at Wyoming, will again direct the Buffs in Bzdelik's absence.

Colorado (4-2) has a 7 p.m. home game tonight against the University of San Francisco.

Bzdelik missed CU's three games last week in the Maui Invitational. The Buffs went 1-2 in the prestigious tournament, including narrow losses to perennial powers Gonzaga and Arizona.

Man, really hope all the best for him and his family. Got to be rough on him being away from the team and especially with whatever he's going through.

Thorburn wrote in his article this morning that Coach B is back with the team. I guess we'll see tonight.

Good news - Coach B will be on the bench tonight versus San Fran. Hope that means his mom's condition has stabilized/improved.

Kensler posted a retraction a couple hours ago:

Colorado men's basketball coach Jeff Bzdelik is on campus and is expected to coach tonight's game against visiting San Francisco.

Bzdelik missed the Maui Invitational last week because his mother had fallen ill. He also missed the season opener because of a family emergency.

Colorado (4-2) was 2-2 in games coached by assistant coach Steve McClain, including 1-2 in the Maui tournament.
