Cali High Sports has a new thing where players can create personal profiles pages. On the pages you can vote on where you think they should go to school (as many times as you want) and write coments. Since the players created the pages it's resonable to think they check them out. I don't think comments would be a "booster violation", especially since it's annonymous, but since Buffnik brought it up regarding facebook id hold off until he rules. Assuming it's ok if your name isin't Creatini and you have something tasteful and positive to say about why CU would be a good college choice then do so. Not sure any of this makes a difference but you never know. As Todd Peat demonstrated sometimes small things can matter. At the very least it shows strong fan support. Here are links to some of the players we've offered.

Not sure this is a great idea. Seems like a grey area with regard to boosters contacting/influencing recruits.

Someone (probably a Cali Hi rep) spammed all the pay sites to tell people to do this a week or so ago. I don't know that voting could possibly be an issue. Posting "Come to CU" on the player's wall probably isn't the best idea. I've decided to error on the side of caution.

I got a chuckle out of the 31,350 votes cast by SDSU in pursuit of Matt Shrigley. Second place...CU at 315. Doooooom!

Did some enterprising Aztec build a voting bot?

Do we really want a player who is going to make his decision on what school to attend/play for based on how many losers voted on some self-congratulatory web page they set up?

Personally, given the potential for violations associated with people posting on those pages, I would just as soon that we not even link to them here...

If they have 4 or 5 stars next to their name, then yes.

Regardless, I guarantee you no player is going to base their college choice on how many votes a school gets, that being said if the player checks the page it certainley wouldn't hurt to be the school with the most votes.

    From the CU compliance booklet:

There is no question whether voting or posting on calihisports.com is electronic means of communication. It clearly is.

The key issue is whether the NCAA considers voting in a public poll or posting on a web site to be deliberate contact for purposes of recruiting. A profile has been set up by the recruit for purposes of voting and posting on the wall.

There is room for interpretation. The last thing any of us want is an over zealous NCAA penalizing the school or the recruit because of this message board.

Just because 31k votes are cast for San Diego State on the Matt Shrigley page doesn't mean it's ok.

This is hilarious. JRK suggests voting, but only if Nik says it's okay, then denies it's worth. Always entertaining.

honestly, it isn't going to affect a final decision, but it may randomly put Colorado on the radar when they could otherwise not have even given two sh*ts before...

Not sure the legality of it but it can't hurt when a recruit sees the most votes/comments saying Colorado although it could very easily become a violation.

And whichever school he chooses, he gets to use those votes to trade for bjs, drugs, and magical creatures. I like it.
