ding ding ding!
Gotta love ESPN
Let's see, unl playing a D3 school, nope, everything looks in order.
This. Texas/Rice showing up on the Top 25 schedule.
auburn as well
Hmmm... USC on tv?
We're not on it.
didn't even notice texas wasn't ranked. when's the last time they started the year out of the top 25?
Texas is ranked 24th in the USA Today poll.
You had to ask - I can't resist good trivia questions!
Answer: 1998, coming off of a 4-7 season in 1997 (the last season under John Mackovic).
In 1998, the first season under Mack Brown, the Longhorns went 9-3, and finished the season ranked 15th.
I just flipped through the list and Texas wasn't on it. They must have been removed with some pressure.
I'm really close to boycotting ESPN altogether--which is too bad. They've had a nice run.
How blatant can you be ESPN? C'mon!
Yep - they pulled it. Amazing
The power of AllBuffs
Hahah - in fairness, some TAMU and TTU boards were going off about it
They should really be embarrassed. Would this have happened if they weren't in bed with Texas? Maybe, Texas is a big draw just outside the top 25, so maybe it was innocent enough. But the perception is bad. In my opinion ESPN has crossed a line.
This is the entire problem with their relationship with Texas now. Every time they report on ANYTHING UT, the reader/viewer needs to ask himself what percentage of the story is altered/skewed by the ESPN/UT relationship.
