Hey, asshole, it is the University of Colorado. Dip****...
Regulators mount up!
I think they're sh*tting themselves in Austin over the thought that CU might bolt to the Pac without them. Honestly. I think that concerns them. They have been planting all kinds of craziness in the press for the last week and are now faced with the very real possibility that nobody gives a damn what they think or do.
Kiss my ass, Big 12.
We're outta there.
CU is the only one in the B12 that realistically would go without UT, IMO. The Texas schools can't go without them and OU doesn't have a lot of incentive to leave the B12. They might not make as much as UT does, but they do just fine.
One question, anyway the Pac helps us with the penalty if this goes down say Wed.
Texas can kiss my fat @ss too. I hope they don't join Pac 10. I want the road trips in the Pac 10 and don't want to go to Lubbock and Stillwater. Plus, we should be competing with programs that have our same level of athletic budget. I know the $$$$ is better with Texas, but at this point I could care less.
This scenario and no Texas would be almost to good too hope for...
I really hope we are holding a non-conditional invite and do bolt. If the rumors are true about the Nubs, I sure would like being able to say we bolted at about the same time. Once the ink is dry, then I can sit back and enjoy watching the fallout.
I would definitely enjoy knowing that they are sh*tting themselves in Austin.
CU, the Nubs and Mizzou ... unless you mean go to the Pac X.
This guy is a complete doosh, I love how he floats the MWC option for Colorado.
And does anyone get the feeling that his "sources" on this story is actually Allbuffs?
It could be, and it wouldn't be the first time a 'reporter' or blogger used AB for a 'secret source'
Listening to Vic and Gary this morning, they had one of the producers from News 4 on. The guy is a huge CU fan and was taking his 8 year old to the CU football camp. He said that CU was invited to the Pac 10 several years ago but turned them down and they have regretted it ever since.
Can anyone cooborate that?
After the rejection, Pac-10 officials were resolute in saying they aren't finished looking at expansion - even someday to Colorado.
"It's quite likely that at some point in the future, and I don't know how far, there will be more realignments and more reconfigurations," Pac-10 commissioner Tom Hansen said. "We have become convinced major conferences are going to get bigger."
Some pretty prophetic words...
This whole story just doesn't pass the eyeball test to me. So the regents are meeting to discuss a specific legal issue and suddenly it turns into CU bolting for the PAC-16. Seriously, the meeting of the regents could be for any number of things - including how to legally protect the University's fiscal interests should Nebraska and Mizzou get out of the Big 12 or getting an action plan in place should CU get an invite or be denied and invite. Seems like a bit of a stretch at this point to think this is anywhere near a done deal. Maybe I am wrong or being too objective.
a) legally protect the fiscal interests? whatever that means... hope they dont spend too much time on that one...
b) denied an invite? not sure there is a legal argument/ issue to discuss on a DENIAL of an invite
c) how do we legally get out of this Big 12 thing????? BINGO!!!!!
(a) I assume Nebraska and Mizzou have large buyout clauses if they leave the Big 12. A portion of that money which CU would be entitled to. Correct?
(b) Poor choice of words - basically it could be a planning session to go over scenerios if in fact a PAC-16 bid is not extended.
(c) Could be absolutely correct. Who knows is basically my point.
Well, it is true nobody really knows, the fact Mizzou and the Nubs are having/had Board meetings in the last two days makes it pretty inescapable something is up with the B12. Since no news is coming out of Lawrence, Manhattan, Ames or Waco, aside pleas to keep the league together, it stands to reason MU, NU and CU are discussing their options to get the hell out of Dodge.
Maybe they aren't, but since CU to the MWC ONLY happens if the B12 and Pac 10 fall through, it is highly unlikely that is what is being discussed. Of course, it could be a giant coincidence and they are really getting together to discuss the Regents 4th of July picnic, but I doubt it. Most likely they are discussing the exit strategy to join the Pac 10.
the chipster and others are reporting Bohn is on scene and in the meeting.
I don't want to jinx it..But I'm having a nice cold Pikes Place ale up here in Seattle for you guys
I think Colorado jumping first is basically to cut Baylor's nuts off. So to speak. I bet Scott and Powers are working on this.
If you believe Chipster, his post said that CU may be planning a major announcement on Wednesday, so if he's right they probably aren't talking about scenarios that might come up.
When you cut a bears' nuts off, do they go apesh!t on you?
They could try.

Should be "too good to". Remember to check your grammar. Otherwise good. B+ :smile2:
Chip's latest tweet.
Is he really out to get dear old CU?
Can't be us, we are an academic school first.
