I actually think it's a decent year for us to have an opening, with only one other Pac-12 team with a vacancy and no Big XII vacancies (compare that to all the Pac-12 vacancies last year + KU). I know we're in the age of national searches, but I just don't really see us clashing with the likes of NCSU or Tennessee.
Ouch....Petrino's phone will ring soon I imagine.

I could see MacIntyre (SJSU) getting a serious look at Kentucky now that some bigger names have said "No". Sort of like Ole Miss with the Freeze hire.
Hearing now that Mack Brown is almost certainly gone, especially if he loses at KSU. Harsin and Applewhite are fed up and want out of dodge.

Would love to see Art Briles leave and Baylor sink back into the swamp.
Me too, but he is VERY much a TX guy. My guess is he is waiting on UT or aTm to open up.
Arky recruits mainly from Texas. He would be a plan D guy at TX. They take a lot of pride in playing clean football. Everybody and their brother knows Baylor ain't clean.

Sounds like a good match. Kentucky does border Ohio in addition to the SEC states plus Carolina and Virigina. The Kentucky job is very underrated IMO and Kentucky can hit it big in football if the right coach comes to town.
They say break ups are never truly mutual, but in this case, they may be.
