LANCASTER, Penn. – Former University of Colorado golfer Jenny Coleman is set to compete in the 70th Annual United States Women’s Open Championship this week, marking only the second time in school history a Buff has qualified for the event.

Coleman secured her place among the 156-player field back on May 18 at Serrano Country Club in El Dorado Hills, Calif. She earned medalist honors, shooting a 139 in the 36-hole qualifier, two strokes ahead of the second-place finisher. Three other golfers also qualified on the same course.

Congrats to Ms. Coleman. What a HUGE thrill it must be. Good luck the next 4 days!

(Also from the article)- Can only say "Keep on workin' and improving" to the 3 other Buffs or Buff alums who JUST missed qualifying for the U.S. Open by what must be an agonizing one stroke. And, good luck to one of them, sophomore Brittany Fan, as she has already bounced back and made it to today's final of the Colorado Women’s Golf Association Match Play Championship being held at Littleton's Raccoon Creek course.
