I'm a Massachusetts resident and I've been a fan of Colorado football
for the past 20 years. My wife and I are making our first trip to
    Boulder for the Cal game.
    Any suggestions of things I need to: do; see; take a picture of;
experience; eat to get the full fan experience.

    Thanks all

We were building a sticky forum that had great info on what to do but I'm not sure we completed it. I'll look for it.

    And Welcome. Go Buffs!

I did a quick search, but can't remember the thread title. I searched "best of boulder" with no luck.

Depending on how much time you have a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. Only about an hour drive from Boulder.

    http://www.nps.gov/romo/index.htm

I also recommend a trip up flagstaff mountain for sight seeing.

The pearl street mall in the middle of town is the popular spot the night before the game. The CU band and boosters have a rally/parade down the mall.

Where are you staying and how long are you going to be in town?

We'll definitely check out Pearl Street for the Parade.

We're in Colorado from Wednesday to Tuesday. In Boulder Friday (Staying at Alps Inn) and Saturday. We're doing RM National Park, a Rockies games, Pikes Peak and Colorado Springs. But I'm looking for essentials for a CU fan around game day and the night before.

    Thanks for the help

If you don't go eat pizza and chug beet at the Sink before the game you will have wasted your flying money.

We're very healthy here in Boulder. Make sure they're organic, fair trade beets.

There is usually a guy in the alley behind the Sink selling conflict beets for those that just don't care.

If you really suck up, you might get invited to a tail gate party here. Depending on the worldliness of your wife, she may prefer to pass. C. Springs and Pikes Peak is ok. A drive up I-70 is a worthy trip. Vail is only about 2 hours, Breck and Keystone are on the way. You can drive over Loveland Pass which is pretty cool. From I-70 you can hop over to the Winter Park area. There is also a buffalo herd just a few miles up I-70, right next to the highway for more photo ops. Multiple beet stops on the way too. Enjoy your trip!

You can get Russian beet stew-borscht, at Little Russian Cafe of Pearl.

Last year my wife and I made the trip to see the UGA game. We stayed at a B&B in Estes Park, Friday night. The morning before the game, we did a before dawn drive to the top of Trail Ridge Road and watched the sun come up. What a great vista. We were the only ones on the mountain... it was so early, there was nobody there to take the park entry fee. If you can make that drive before dawn, it is well worth the early wake up.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Other than the final score we had a terrific time.
