It started ugly, but QB Tyler Hansen and Colorado found a rhythm on both sides of the ball in the second quarter and lead Colorado State 14-7 at halftime.

Hansen threw 24 yards for a touchdown just before the break and ran two yards for the Buffaloes first score. Perhaps the best news, however, is the running game getting going. Rodney Stewart gained 48 yards on seven carries (6.9 per rush) in the first half.

Colorado didn't score a TD in the first half of its first two games, so getting two is probably a relief.

The big play, however, came on bad play: A blocked punt from Colorado State. The special teams bungle produced a happy ending when a Rams player touched the bouncing ball and the Buffs recovered. They then drove for the second TD with 12 seconds left in the half.

At 0-2, the Buffs will take any gifts that they are given.
