I think it's probably a pipe dream to think that Hawk will be fired before the seasons end, and that he is for sure gone at the end as well at this point. I was stupid enough to buy in to the Georgia win, I am not going to fall for that again. The rest of this season, I am only allowing Hawk 1 more loss. Yep, that's right.

    I expect him to...

    - Go undefeated at home
    - Beat Kansas on the road
    - Split the Oklahoma/nebraska games.

Is this going to happen? Almost for sure not. I actually am more confident on us going undefeated at home than winning at Kansas. As terrible as the Jayhawks are this year, Im not sure that this team could beat a High School team with the performances they have had on the road this year. It's pretty pathetic. I know I can see us going undefeated at home and then Hawk spinning that to make it look like the year was a success. We would be 7-5, which isnt awful, but its not what we should expect out of this team. Even if he sneaks out of KU with a win, 8 wins is still not enough. He has done too much damage. He has to have a career win to prove that things are changing, and that includes upsetting OU or nu on the road. Preferably nu. If this doesnt happen, I will be calling for his head louder than anyone else.

Under no condition, even if we win out the rest of the season will I support the staff. One marginal season does not make up for 4 sub-par seasons. Time to move on regardless. No sense in even discussing, no way we win more then 1 road game at the most.

If we win out, I'll be on board. How couldn't I be? That would likely mean a 12-2 season that included a Big 12 championship and a BCS bowl win.

Hard to see that happening when it looks like we'll be a home dog to Baylor.

i'll support him if he goes to the 50 yard line at folsom on television at the half this next game and announces his resignatioin, admits his total failure, and renounces any right to any buyout money.

    i'd support that move.

    otherwise, nothing doing.

assembling a group of no-talent ass clown surrender monkey coaches is not an achievement in my book.

I might still consider this scenario fools gold, but it would make me want to think about it. It will never happen though so no need to worry about it.

I support him if he commits Seppuku --

Seppuku (切腹?, "stomach-cutting") is a form of Japanese ritual suicide by disembowelment. Seppuku was originally reserved only for samurai. Part of the samurai bushido honor code, seppuku was used voluntarily by samurai to die with honor rather than fall into the hands of their enemies (and likely suffer torture), as a form of capital punishment for samurai who had committed serious offenses, or performed for other reasons that had brought shame to them. The ceremonial disembowelment, which is usually part of a more elaborate ritual and performed in front of spectators, consists of plunging a short blade, traditionally a tantō, into the abdomen and moving the blade from left to right in a slicing motion.

Prior to the season starting I thought 8-4 with a bowl win would allow Hawk to keep his job. The one string was that the 4 losses couldn’t be blowout losses. They had to be competitive the entire game, and have it come down to the final possession.

That has not happened and I don’t think there is a chance in hell that Hawk stays.

edit: after Saturday's performance I finally shot MB an email saying I am fed up with the coaching staff his responce was:

Thank you for your note and passionate interest in the football program. I share your frustration and appreciate your support and input. MB

He'll have my support if he quits. I'll fully support him in that endeavor.

I can't envision any reasonable scenario that could take place where I could put an iota of confidence in him.

Hawk could win every game the rest of the season and win a bowl game. If he is still here in January I won't renew my season tix.

You have to be ****ing loony to even consider giving Hawk any consideration or support. He showed his ineptitude when he was given a last minute reprieve and instead of making changes (ie Riddle and Johnson) that could improve the team, he decided to keep things the way that they were and hope for a miracle. He hasnt made one adjustment to the bull**** that he has been feeding us for the last five years. He needs to go sell his snake oil somewhere else.

But would you help him pack? We need to be prepared to go all the way, get our horns out and be about the whole deal.

At this point there is nothing, absolutely nothing, this mongoloid bastard can do to garner my support. He has truly exhausted any possibility of it.

    Nothing.

If I didn't know better, I could mistake your post as a no confidence vote for Hawk.....

Win every game by 40 points and shut out half the teams. Have a top 15 recruiting class locked up by dec 10; and also get commits from 5 players in the top 100 for 2012z

    That should do it.

FYI I have had three emails from MB this year that have said that exact thing. I am guessing an intern is cut and pasting.

I'd help throw his sh*t out on to the street. That's cinching it up as far as I'm concerned. I'd even bring my lunchpail. What I wouldn't do is throw out stuff like the desk, chairs, couch, bookcases, etc. That's big stuff. I'm all about the little things. Like his playbook.

I guess "support" and "tolerate" are two different words. I call BS on anybody that says they would not support Hawk's retention if they were to win the rest of their games including a Big XII title and a BCS win. That would be a feat only accomplished once in the history of CU football. Granted Hawk has provided plenty of firsts on the losing end and I want him gone as much as anybody but I think everybody (myself included) would be lying if they said they would not support him after a 12-2 season, a Fiesta Bowl win and a top 5 ranking. Winning heals a lot of wounds. However, if we were to start next season with the same type of ineptitude, I think "support" would quickly dissipate.

I would support him if we won nine games on a strong showing AND recruited a blue chip QB and some big-time skill players, linemen, and pass rushers. Neither of those terms have even a minor chance of being realized.

I wish I could think of a basis for continued support but.....

The only game I've been impressed with this year is against Hawaii and I still had to hold off a coronary in the first half of that one.

It's not just Hawkins, it's the whole staff. I don't respect the body of work of any of them (except Cabral) and they will be here as long as Hawkins is.

We lose some key kids to graduation and I'm not inspired by Hawkins player development skills and have little basis for future change in this.

In recruiting, 4.5 years of poor performances have tanked hopes for a fine class this year. There is only a measure of under the radar talent out there any given year anyway and I don't think Hawk is as good at ferreting it out as he thinks he is.

Probably the worst, is his attitude during his time as coach. I don't like seeing pictures of him, I don't like reading his quotes, I don't like hearing his voice. It all smacks of consistent arrogance and conceit and while that is a typical reaction to someone who has had the wolves snapping at his heels for a while, he has not earned the right to carry himself this way.

My patience with coach Hawkins has run out and I just want to see some fresh faces on the sidelines at this point. I might add as soon as possible, I'm not one of the wait until the end of the season to can him guys. Rational or not make the change, give future recruits a valid reason to consider us and give the fans a little hope again - ASAP.

So I guess I'd have to say the world is not enough.
