how is it that Helfuk has the Ducks rolling, #10, and beating USC in year 1 after leaving CU?

I thought Helfuk was one of the problems last year, clearly we were wrong!!

We all know who is the f-in source of CU's woes. :sad2:

I could be wrong, but Chip Kelly still calls plays I think? Not sure how much credit Helfrich deserves for their success. They've had a good offense for quite awhile, especially since Kelly got there. This is probably what Helfrich needs though, to learn under a real OC. Naturally this is after we gave him some on the job learning experience.

I really hope Oregon doesn't blow it the rest of the way, I'm so tired of USC winning the Pac 10. Time for someone else to win it.

They win out they'll still go to the BCS..

USC vs Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl would be kind of exciting to see.

While I'm not surprised to see Oregon win this game, I am a bit surprised at how easy they're making it look. Oregon seems to be getting better as the season goes on, and I just didn't think that USC is that good. They had to hold on to beat mediocre teams the past 2 weeks.

USC is young team on defense and have a young offense.. I thought they keep it close but this would have been a tough win for them.

USC's "down" year will be 10-2, 9-3 at the worst.

Herbstreit confirmed towards the end of the game that Chip Kelly calls the plays for Oregon, fwiw. I still don't think Helfrich is worth much as a coach, the number of offenses he tried to employ here just doesn't quite yell 'good coach' to me. If anything, while at UO, he can learn from Chip Kelly how to mold your offense to the talent at hand.

THANK GOD!!! Now ... finally ... the talk from the ESPN and other "experts" that SC still had a shot at the MNC game is moot.

I have nothing against USC as a program or Pete Caroll as a coach (in fact ... I WISH we had someone remotely like him .. not only on the field but off the field) ... but I am SO SICK of the CFB media fawning over the Condoms.

    USC ... buh bye.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Hawk is a good coach. But, comparing Chip Kelly's first year coaching to many other first year coaches is silly. He took over an established program full of very good players where he had been the OC for a few years. Not to mention, the old coach is still hanging out around as the AD. Not your typical first year coach.

What's really scary - Southern Cal has fifty-four 4- and 5-star recruits on their roster, and Oregon has four 4-5 star recruits.

Why does Pete Carroll EVER get votes for Coach Of Year?!! He always gets high votes for his teams handed over to him just on Rivals ratings. Why give him anything else?

Just amazing. The talking heads said he's got more 3-star WALK-ONs than most Pac-10 teams have on scholarship!! The other guy says that's not true, they only have 7 walk-ons that were 2- and 3-star recruits, but their practice squad is full of them.

I hope they're all getting film degrees.

Uhh, what? Oregon definitely has an eye for talent and isn't loaded with 4 or 5 stars like USC is, but they certainly have more than 4 of them on the roster. They had 6 commitments of 4 star players last year alone. Interesting that their star players, Masoli and LaMichael James, were a 1 star and a 3 star respectively. Chip Kelly certainly knows how to recruit for his offense, or his assistant coaches are on the same page with him.

There are 5 or 6 teams in the country that, year over year, should be number 1 on paper. USC is one of them but they are dinged up this year. As well, on paper, doesn't account for player mistakes in big games. The talk will now shift to UF or UT being one of those teams along with Alabama.

Im glad they lost two and that conversation ended.
