Construction on Farrand field lot?

The bs threats from the cops last year + the sudden bikes racks in the middle of our tailgate spot and now this! Bull****! Why can't we have a place to drown our sorrows in peace

And all that was BEFORE we spearheaded (well, some of us did) a campaign to get the football coach fired... What are they gonna do next?

So it's ok to have construction noise next to the music school?

Look, we've been jerked around with our parking spot two years in a row now. It's starting to feel like we've been somehow targeted. I know that's ridiculous, but their little projects seem to follow us wherever we go. It's annoying.

I think in general CU has a huge disconnect with the people who support them. This is something that has existed for decades and is a completely top down phenomenon. For the most part the presidents they have selected (with the exception of Gee) have been highly disconnected academic types who considered alumni relations, athletics, media relations, etc. as distractions from their higher calling of academic elitism. It is no wonder that the media and much of the Colorado public has a negative and often incorrect impression of what CU is.

Benson broke the mold in that he isn't an academic he is a business man, but he is in the commodity production business. His focus has been to generate maximum production at minimum cost within the regulations. Marketing has never been a problem or concern because his production has gone into a general commodity market.

I don't have big hopes in terms of replacing Benson but I would like to see another person from the business world. This time however it should be somebody who has succeeded in a marketing and customer service oriented industry. Sombody who can set a tone that is about taking care of the people who are the customers and the revenue source for the university. Somebody who will make people accountable for how they treat the students, alums, donors, and general public with an eye towards how that impacts the university.

Seems like they would be be mindful of how many tailgate party's this would effect. Hopefully they progress far enough along by the 1st home game that they have this stuff moved out of the way.
