CU and Sports Illustrated

So someone tosses me the April 19, 2010 issue of Sports Illustrated and says "You gotta see Page 5."

And sure enough, there's guy in a CU jersey, leading a race.

So I read the caption and say, "Wow, lookee there. The Buffs' Cameron Clayton won the steeplechase at the Colorado Invitational."

Sort of surprising that's big enough news to make it the first photo in Sports Illustrated, but still cool.

And he says, "No. Look at the REST of the photo. Look at the other guy."

I'm such a CU homer, that as soon as I saw the black and gold, I didn't even look at the rest of the two-page photo. Which is pretty classic. Still, a CU athlete is the first event pictured inside this issue. Check it out.

The guy who fell on his head somehow got back up and in the race and finished second behind Cameron Clayton.
Of course, he had a "head start."
