CU Buffs Preseason News Thread

we going zone!? And I'm hoping that talk of Dom is predictive, not hopeful. Tad plays the media game with his players pretty well. If he's pumping Dom up...

If he still doesn't have the lock down defenders he needs at guard but has a lot of long guys who can get out to challenge shots on a skip pass, he almost has to play more zone. Just need to work harder on defensive rebounding to make the zone work.

And although they are deep on the wings they aren't so much at the point. Might help Dom stay out of foul trouble. Or be able to stay in the game if he does pick up a couple.

Great point. Neither Dom nor Tommy are great at preventing dribble penetration. Very good at shading them to a side and recovering... and that's a zone skill. But they are not lock down man defenders on the perimeter.

Tad adjusting to the talent on his roster.

Dude is nails. I can't help but remember when he was clearly the third choice among allbuff faithful when Bzdelik left. "Who the feck is Tad Boyle". Man, were we wrong.

Thanks Bohn?

Bohn's got an uneven record with basketball: Patton lame duck situation & mass exodus of talent when Bzdelik was hired but practice facility and Tad.

Tad is the best thing to ever happen to CU basketball, so that overrides everything else imho.

Should we start copywrite checking him against his previous years? Make sure he's not rewriting anything? I want 25,000 original words!

Uhhhhhh...

Not Dave Plati, but according to my crack research, the last -and only- time the Buffs have made a bowl AND received an NCAA tourney berth in the same school year was 1996/97.

The Chauncey-led basketball team beat Indiana, then lost to North Carolina in the second round.

Koy Detmer and Darrin Chiaverini led the #8 football Buffs to a 33-21 win against #13 Washington.

This is more than a Renaissance, it's a revolution.

2002/03 was the last year. Football lost the Alamo Bowl to Wiscy, and Hoops lost to Michigan St. in the 1st round of the Dance.

Your point is well taken though!!!

FIFY!

BZ is surely the second best: He insisted on the Practice Center as a term of his contract, recruited Burks and was semi-responsible for Dre (yeah, yeah, Abatemarco and all that) and in the end his buy out gave the Ath. Dept. $500K to play with/pay for said Practice Center. BZ literally set the table for Tad.
