SALT LAKE CITY – The final Pac-12 Conference match of the season was bound to be a battle, as the University of Colorado soccer team fell 2-1 to Utah in double overtime.
After over 70 minutes of scoreless action, the Buffaloes grabbed the lead off an own goal at 70:44. Their lead would hold until the closing minutes of regulation, as Utah tied things up in the 87th minute off a corner kick. The Utes claimed the victory with less than seven minutes remaining in the second overtime to stay undefeated in home play this season.
The Buffs look to keep their tournament hopes alive as they slip to 12-6-2 overall, 4-5-2 Pac-12. Colorado set records early in the season by shutting out their first five opponents and winning their first six games on their way to eight non-conference victories, all program firsts. The Buffs have won 12 games for the first time since 2008 and four conference games for the first time since 2010.
