Mike MacIntyre is as sold as ever on moving spring ball up a month in the calendar. Colorado's third-year football coach made the switch this year, starting spring practices in February and ending them in mid-March in order to maximize what his team might be able to accomplish in the weight room this offseason.

Same story with this every year.

It better be meaningful this year. Last year's team got pushed around too much. Even in games it was competing well in like UCLA, CU's guys were getting rocked all over the field.

last time CU's Oline bitch slapped another team was the last game of the 2011 at Utah. Danno, Miller, Handler, Atkins and Bak...also had a couple of tough blocking TEs.

The Buffs knocked the utes out of the Pac 12 title game that day. Richardson was hurt, so they ran and Tclem had a monster game. Glad to see that Coach Mac forced
Forman to change his philosophy in the weight room.

Was this the same season that we had the Ebner brothers playing WR for use? Wasn't #EspinosaIsland and #LockdownLockridge a thing? Did Alex Lewis still don the BnG before he wore the red and white, court evidence jersey?
Lets not forget about the man himself, Conrad Obi.

Yeah man, what a great ****ing year.

Or you could just respond to reasonable posts in a reasonable manner. That would be okay as well.

The quote below kinda pisses me off. You're dealing with 19-20 year olds dude.

"He (Forman) acknowledged that previously he didn't watch over players like a hawk making sure they were doing the work. He believed they would want to do it and found out over the course of time that some were not."

Disappointed we got no power clean numbers. What good us is the yearly weight room puff piece without power clean numbers?

I feel like that is a bigger indication that player leadership is not where it needs to be.

    It's a bit of both.

Forman should have been more insightful and recognized that as a new regime with so much losing and turmoil in the recent past that he should have started as a hard guy and then backed off to give more trust once they had earned it and leadership had been established.

Agree it's players and Forman, but ultimately it's up to Mac. Was he so out of touch with the S&C program that he didn't know what was going on? Or was Forman's style approved by him? Either way...bugs me this went on for 2 years.

the fact that CU was trying to lure matt mcchesney into the fold speaks volumes about the confidence in the current S&C program for football. the best guy at CU was shoved over to womens soccer--there is a self professed O and D line guru on the rivals site who has been singing the praises of forman since he arrived. how is that working ?

So long as none of our opponents are lifting weights this offseason, we will be in good shape.

It seems like the McChesney thing was more about motivation with the players. And it's not like the O-line was getting dominated up front, the D line was but a lot of that has to do with not having any depth at the end spots. When you are starting a 235 pound true freshman against CSU in your first game you know there are going to be issues.
