CU football: Mike MacIntyre sold on Buffs' new look

"We're a more mature football team," MacIntyre said. "We're not a JV football team any more. We actually got 20 year olds playing. I'm excited about that instead of teenagers. We're a junior-sophomore football team. I'm excited about what we'll do. So I think we'll come through in a lot of those close games this year."

Ouch.

So do we like "burned to the ground' or "JV team" more?

Not sure that was what HCMM meant, slider. He was referring to how many teenagers were in his 2-deep.

Last year's seniors were the last of the Hawkins recruits from his dead man walking class + the initial transitional class guys from Embree who had to play too early. Junior class was so small that there are only 9 scholarship seniors heading into this year. It was a fair statement.
