The University of Colorado men moved up five spots in the standings and finished second Tuesday in the 24-team Wyoming Cowboy Classic in Scottsdale, Ariz.
It was the fifth top-two finish of the season for the Buffs, who have won two team titles.
With the best final-round score of the day -- a 6-under-par 274 -- CU finished with a 580 total, which left the team six strokes behind champion Gonzaga in the 36-hole event.
Two Buffs ended up in the top 10 individually. Derek Fribbs, who closed with a 2-under-par 68 for a 142 total, placed seventh, four shots behind winner Glen Scher of UC-Santa Barbara. CU's Jason Burstyn moved into the top 10 with a final-round 67, which put him at 143, good for 10th place.
As for other Colorado-based schools, Colorado State (593) finished ninth in the team race, while Air Force (602) was 17th and Northern Colorado (603) 18th.
