Suh and Crick are licking their chops already. Thankfully NU has just as bad if not worse offense than us.

    Seriously though, 17 sacks in 2 games!:wow::sad2::cry:

It would be much worse without a mobile QB.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday.

I don't know if this stat is tracked anywhere, but I bet we continued to extend our lead in most illegal procedure penalties in the nation as well, there were probably 4 or 5 yesterday.

It is really bad and I mentioned it in another thread. Pre-snap penalties show a serious lack of discipline. Multiple false start penalties at home are inexcusable.

At least they remembered how to run block yesterday.

Conversely, if he didn't rely on his running so much and would get rid of the damned ball......

Your criticism of Hansen baffles me. I see a guy who is trying to avoid mistakes more often than not by not getting rid of the ball too early. Either way, he has been an upgrade over Cody at QB, which is all I really care about.

Hey, I love the kid and thought he should have been the starter from the get go. My criticism is one small thing. Overall, he did great. And I see him getting better as things slow down. Capice? I was just making one point that he also needs to know when to chuck it into no man's land.

Okay, my bad. I read it as you were being harsh on the guy. I agree about getting rid of the ball earlier at times, but that will come with experience. I am sure the game is still going at 100 mph right now for him. When it starts to slow down a bit more, we should see a pretty decent QB out there.

Our O line needs to work on their footwork. They are statues while the rush runs around them. Rewatching the game there were many plays where various O linemen just never moved their feet at the snap on passing plays. They do a poor job of keeping their bodies engaged during blocking.

Tyler needs to continue to look down field when protection breaks down. And our WRs need to work on the scramble drill.

ya they are TERRIBLE on the scramble. Can't get separation and just jog around (except for scotty).
it's a coaching issue, because its not like Simas can't get open :smile2:

Our oline has probably farther to go than anywhere else on the team. I know Miller is 6'8 or whatever but I think he is a guard. When he plays tackle, de's just run right by him. Unless his footwork improves by about 200%, Id keep him at guard imho.

huge difference in the Oline when Miller is G as opposed to tackle. Plus solder is beaten badly at least twice a game. I would be amazed if TH could walk without limping on sunday.

Suh is a beast. I don't think there is anyone in the country who can block him. He should be #1 pick this year. Immediate impact player in the League as well.

I think it's all part of the plan. Make those DL run like crazy for three quarters trying to catch Hansen and then run out of steam in the 4th quarter.

c'mon, you gotta know that most of these sacks have come in the first three quarters, right? It's all part of the plan.

I'm so sick of our player not coming to the ball. They just wait for the ball to get to them and then the defender knocks it down. ARGGGHHH!!1

Tyler does look down field, but the receivers aren't coming back to the QB when the play breaks down. This was my biggest issue on Saturday.

Agreed! This is all something new to them though... the mobile QB keeping the play alive so I think they'll get there.

The O-Line play is killing me though... we have beasts up there (supposedly) I was all excited at the beginning of the season about that being one of our strong suits but it's obviously one of our biggest problems.

Most of the time, Hansen was just running for his life. There was one play though where he scrambled and got away but ran out of bounds instead of throwing it away. That was not heady, he must have forgotten where he was on the field.

Did I see Suh getting up slowly late in the game? I was kind of zombie watching, and I think I remember him coming back in.

That's right. We were with some friends and the game was on in the background so I wasn't quite sure what had happened.
