CU to play Oklahoma State at MGM in Vegas on Dec 20th

Quality game but I don't understand the point of neutral site games as opposed to a home/home series, just deprives both school's fan base a premium OOC game plus if games against good opponents are as difficult to get as Tad has claimed then it would make the most sense for both schools to get two years commitments out of each other. If we are still looking for another high RPI opponent and this is the model of choice I do think that adding one more school along with OSU and playing a small round robin in Vegas would make sense too.

I'm pretty much with you on neutral sites. In this case, I think a lot had to do with it filling the hole in the schedule when students are home for Xmas, the game atmospheres suck, it's really hard to get a decent program to travel, and a good matchup will make a lot of $$$$s (neutral arena that wants to host at that time of year + nationally televised). The last is the most important, as always. Both programs make a lot more money off the neutral site game then they would with whatever season ticket bump a home/home series would have made them both.

I went to the Las Vegas Classic in 2010 and it was incredible to beat Indiana. And that was at the Orleans arena. I'd go to this upcoming game at MGM. Great exposure game vs a quality opponent at an alumni friendly destination, that's a good deal.
