BOULDER — Excitement is in the air as another fall season is just about here. The volleyball season will start on August 26 with the Colorado Buffaloes traveling to Portland, Ore., but fans will have a chance to preview the 2016 team on Saturday, August 20 when they host the Black & Gold Intrasquad scrimmage at the Coors Events Center.

The scrimmage will start at 3 p.m., with doors opening at 2 p.m. Fans will want to get there early to take part in the activities planned prior to the start of the contest, which include a chance to check out the locker rooms, sports medicine and film rooms.

It will also be the first chance to see the new court, which was refinished over the last month, as well as hear the new sound system that was installed last spring.

The Buffs will play four sets during the scrimmage with promotions between each set. After the fourth set, the team will be available for autographs and will also conduct a youth clinic.

Colorado will host the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge in its first home tournament of the season, September 3-4. The Buffs will host Penn State on Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. and Illinois on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. Pac-12 foe Stanford will also be in town to take on PSU and UI on the opposite days with both matches starting at 3 p.m.
