STANFORD, Calif.– The University of Colorado women’s golf team is set to open its 2015-16 spring season here this weekend (Feb. 13-14), competing in the 21st Annual Peg Barnard Invitational.

The tournament, a two-day, 36-hole event hosted by the Stanford Cardinal will be held at Stanford Golf Course. The first groups tee-off at 9 a.m. MT from the first and 10th holes on Saturday and the final round takes place on Sunday.

Women finished at 6th in this past weekend's tournament. STANFORD, Calif. – The University of Colorado women’s golf team finished its first tournament of the spring season here Sunday in sixth place at the Peg Barnard Invitational, hosted by the Stanford Cardinal.

The Buffaloes, ranked No. 22 in the nation in the latest Golfweek poll, combined to shoot 299 or 15-over par in the final round of the 36-hole event. They posted a 26-over par, 594 overall team score for the tournament. The 12th-ranked Washington Huskies came from behind to win it, climbing three spots on the leaderboard and carded the only subpar round on Sunday (4-under par) and finished at 3-over par, 571. Three strokes back, recording a second-place finish was Stanford with a 6-over par 574 team score. California took third place with a 577 or 9-over par total and Oregon, the leader after the first day, finished in fourth place at plus-15 (583). New Mexico rounded out the top five with a 21-over par performance, five strokes ahead of the Buffaloes.
