Best of wishes to the vball team this weekend. Get that 1st road win ... OR TWO!

Just noticed that, per an article in Buffzone ( http://www.buffzone.com/volleyball/ci_30462242/road-woes-thwarting-cu-buffs-volleyball ), Joslyn Hayes probably won't be playing again this weekend, which will give the Buffs an additional challenge (and an opportunity for a player or players to step up).

"
...
The Buffs played without Joslyn Hayes at Cal after the junior outside hitter suffered an injury at Stanford. Hayes, who ranks third on the team in kills and leads CU's regulars with a .311 attack percentage, is expected to remain sidelined this weekend. Her absence at Cal gave more playing time to freshman Justine Spann, but Mahoney hinted there might be further tweaks to the rotation this weekend.

"We need to fill Joslyn's position. We kind of did that how we thought best (at Cal) but we'll look at a couple different options this week," Mahoney said. "What we've been doing all year has been effective. We just need to take care of the easy stuff a little bit better and make some of the tougher plays a little more often."
"

Tough to lose Joslyn. Need some tweaks after what happened last weekend.

This is a tough road trip, facing two ranked opponents, one of whom they have never beat in Seattle. That said, Go Buffs and bring home two W's this weekend.

This is a tremendous opportunity to get everything back on track.

The live stream just went away, but per live stats the Buffs get the 1st set over the #13 Cougars 25-15.

Edit-

The stream is back. Unfortunately, after a 3 point early CU lead, so are the Cougars, as they're up 12-15 in the 2nd set. TO Buffs

Looks like we're going 5 pending a GREAT comeback. Buffs call their 2nd timeout down 12-19.

Great win that makes up for the Cal loss. Extra great with the Buffs short-handed. BIG night for Gabby Simpson, hitting .273 and leading the Buffs with 17 kills.

Let's see .... Buffs go to Berkeley and lose to previously winless Cal then go to Pullman and beat #13 conference leading WSU. Is the PAC-12 an "on any given day" type league in women's volleyball or what??

Definitely looks like it. And, bad day for many home teams. In addition to the Buffs beating WSU in Pullman, Arizona defeated #12 Stanford in Palo Alto and unranked USC beat #16 Oregon in Eugene.
(Note- Arizona has now beat UCLA and Stanford in back to back weekends, so that win a few weeks ago over AZ by the Buffs may end up being a high quality one by the end of the year if the cats keep it up.)
