BOULDER — The University of Colorado volleyball team will host the Omni Invitational, Sept. 18 and 20, at the Coors Events Center.

The Buffs will play two matches on Friday, starting with a 2 p.m. contest against Montana State. At 7 p.m., CU faces Weber State. The Buffs will not play on Saturday, Sept. 19 due to the CU football game against Colorado State, but they will be back in action on Sunday for a pair of matches. George Mason will play CU at 9 a.m. and at 7 p.m., the Buffs will host Air Force. That match will be televised live on Pac-12 Network.

On Friday night against Weber State, there will be a ticket raffle. Two lucky fans will win tickets to the Rocky Mountain Showdown between CU vs. CSU at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver on Sept. 19.

The Daily Camera also has an article that contains original content about the Omni Classic and the Buffs volleyball team - http://www.dailycamera.com/cu-colle...ffs-look-rebound-omni-invitational?source=rss
(Good to see by the picture that it looks like Joslyn Hayes, who suffered a knee injury the 2nd match of the season, might be healthy enough to be practicing with the team now.)

The article also discusses the start of the conference schedule, which I hadn't even looked at, and the Buffs start with 4 straight on the road (beginning next Wednesday against the Utes); should be a good tough challenge to start that part of the season.

And cubuffs.com has another article about the Omni Invitational- http://www.cubuffs.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=600&SPID=256&SPSID=3871&DB_OEM_ID=600

BOULDER — With just one weekend remaining before the Pac-12 Conference volleyball schedule begins, the University of Colorado will host the Omni Invitational, Sept. 18 and 20, at the Coors Events Center.

In the final tune-up prior to the conference slate, CU will host four opponents: Montana State, Weber State, George Mason and Air Force. The Buffs will play two matches on Friday, starting with a 2 p.m. contest against MSU and at 7 p.m., CU faces WSU. The Buffs will not play on Saturday, Sept. 19 due to the CU football game against Colorado State, but they will be back in action on Sunday for a pair of matches. GMU will play CU at 9 a.m. and at 7 p.m., the Buffs will host AFA. The latter match will be televised live on Pac-12 Network. Chris Marlowe will call the match, while Elizabeth Moreau will provide the color.

CU will have its first ‘lights out’ introduction during Friday’s 2 p.m. match against the Bobcats. The house lights will be off for the first time for the Buffaloes starting line-up (this is the first for any team at CU). Friday night (7 p.m.) against Weber State, there will be a ticket raffle. Two lucky fans will win tickets to the Rocky Mountain Showdown between CU vs. CSU at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver on Saturday.

About their 1st opponent tomorrow-

Montana State is 2-4 this season and has lost its last three straight matches heading into the weekend. Earlier this season, MSU lost a four set match to Sam Houston State, a team the Buffs swept last weekend. Loni Kreun is averaging a team-best 3.39 kills per set, while the team is recording 12.45 kills per set. The Bobcats are hitting .166, while their opponents are attacking at a .195 clip. Kasey Altman is picking up a team-high 4.68 digs per set and Kiana Black has a team-best 0.90 blocks per set.

I hope we aren't having the same kind of thunderstorms tomorrow as we did today as I was having lots of internet problems this afternoon and I want to watch both matches.

Match starting. Maybe 75 (???):fans on hand.

K. Cuff starting as outside hitter. Buffs look to be running a 5-1 with N. Edelman setting.

I guess 1st time any Buff's team were announced with lights out and search lights ( or whatever they're called used to light the players being announced.

7-2 CU early. Buffs blocking almost everything.

Buffs not letting anything be easy today. Take TO with lead down to 23-21. (Msu is a nice defensive team.)

Didn't play the best. That won't get the job done against ranked teams, but they pulled it out.

Not too surprised by the lack of people in the stands. Aren't most people at work at the time the match started?

The Buffs just seem to be trying to make things hard for themselves. And they are succeeding.

I take it you agree that the way they are playing, they will not do well in the Pac 12?
