BOULDER - Colorado's lacrosse team will take a four-game winning streak into Evanston, Ill., on Friday to face No. 7/15 Northwestern at noon CT. The game was rescheduled from Thursday after a massive snowstorm prevented the Buffaloes from leaving Boulder. CU will also face Michigan on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
The Buffs are currently 6-1 and are seeking their first win over a nationally-ranked opponent in the third-year program. Cali Castagnola remains the team's leading scorer with 16 goals through seven games, leading four more Buffs with 12 or more goals. Sarah Brown has been one of the top performers on defense, leading the team with 16 caused turnovers, while Marie Moore has been a steady presence in the midfield with 24 draw controls, 16 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. Paige Soenksen remains a leader on goal, posting an 8.24 goals-against average and .436 save percentage.
Northwestern enters Friday with a deceiving 3-4 record, having played six ranked teams in its first seven games, including five top-10 opponents. Kaleigh Craig leads the Wildcats offensively with 15 goals. Shelby Fredericks has a team-high 32 draw controls and also has scored eight goals and assisted on five more. Mallory Weisse has played every minute in goal this season and has a 9.99 GAA. Selena Lasota is a returning All-American and has 12 goals.

Michigan takes a 5-5 record into Sunday's game and, like Colorado, is a third-year program. The Wolverines defeated Duquesne on Sunday, snapping a three-game losing streak that included a pair of losses to ranked teams. Kim Coughlan and Tess Korten both lead UM with 20 goals as five players have 10 or more goals through 10 games. Three goalkeepers have combined for a 9.31 GAA on the season. One of the more physical teams, Michigan is second in the nation in yellow cards, but has benefitted from the physicality on defense, ranking 14th in caused turnovers per game (10.80).
