Good luck to the 2 Buffs racing this evening!

As noted in the OP, less than 1 hour (~6:02 MT) until sophomore Adam Peterman starts off the championships for the Buffs in the semi's/ qualifying round of the steeple, while GREAT Buff senior Pierce Murphy starts his final collegiate race, a 10K, at ~8:08 MT. Also as noted in the OP, both races should be available to view on one ESPN channel or another.

Another great All-American performance for senior Pierce Murphy, as he improves one spot from last year and finishes in 4th!

Congrats to freshman Dani Jones, who easily qualifies for Saturday's 1500M finish with a 2nd place finish in heat 1! The other Buff, Maddie Alm, came in 7th, so still has a chance to qualify depending on what happens in the 2nd heat. (Top 5 of each heat, and next 2 fastest, qualify for the finals, and heat 1 seemed to be pretty quick.)

Edit- wanted to add in any case, a great race for senior Alm, as I believe she set her PR by quite a bit, running 4:14.54.

Love to see seniors get rewarded, and Buff Maddie Alm IS as the 2nd heat is much slower, so she DOES qualify for the final as one of the 2 fastest "other" times! (Her time was actually almost a second faster than the WINNER of heat 2, which obviously went out much slower.)

Surprisingly, not nearly as good a result in the steeple as the 1500M, as neither Buff advances. Oh well- one of those days. (Hope they're OK. I'm surprised both finished as far back as they did, and both were way off their season's bests.) Still a great year for both, and both have a couple years to take it to the field.

Good luck to the 3 Buffs getting ready to race within the next 2-3 hours, with the 1st 2 racing in a little over a half hour!

Freshman Dani Jones and senior Maddie Alm's 1500M final's race is scheduled for a 4:41 PM MT start, while sophomore Kaitlyn Benner's 5000M races is one of the last of the meet, and is scheduled to go off at 6:25 PM MT. Meet coverage starts on ESPN at 4;30 PM MT.

Dani Jones finishes JUST OUTSIDE the last point scoring and 1st team All-American position (8th), finishing in 9th just .25 seconds behind 8th. As a freshman, her future obviously still looks great. Great job also by senior Maddie Alm, who didn't only make it to her 1st NCAA's as a senior, but advanced to the final and also earns 2nd team All-American.

In the last race by a Buff in these championships, sophomore Kaitlyn Benner moves up many places in the last lap to snag 12th place, which makes her another Buff (2nd team) All American. Congrats to her!

Congrats to all the Buffs on their performance at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships!

After the NCAA championships, a few Buffs and former Buffs went up to Portland and raced yesterday evening at the Portland Track Festival. Looks like some nice results with multiple PR's, highlighted by redshirt (this year) junior Ben Saarel improving his own CU record in the men's 1500M. Congrats to all for the performances.
