COLORADO VS. WASHINGTON: The Buffaloes are 1-2-1 all-time battling the Huskies. Colorado will look to a earn its first win at home against Washington as the Buffs hold a 0-1-1 mark when facing the Huskies in Boulder. In their meeting last season, the two teams played to a double-overtime scoreless draw.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES: Washington enters the match ranked 19th in the nation and owns a 9-2-1 overall record and a 2-1 mark in conference play. The Huskies are on a two-game winning streak, having defeated UCLA and USC last weekend. Their only two losses this season have come against top 25 opponents, then-No. 16 Kentucky and then-No. 25 Arizona, dropping each match by the same 1-0 score. Shannon Simon leads Washington with 15 points on six goals and three assists. Goalkeeper Megan Kufeld is the only net-minder to see minutes between the posts for the Huskies this season. She has earned four shutouts and is fourth in the Pac-12 Conference with a .827 save percentage.

Good luck to the soccer team.

One thing with the Pac 12, there's always an opportunity (until the end of the season) to come back and get great wins pretty much every weekend.

Hope they get two this weekend!

Both matches are "must wins" if the Buffs have designs on the post season. Last week's results have made it so.

Still 0-1 at the half.

Kind of bad luck so far, with the Buffs having the better chances at goal, especially on an early throw-in and a couple corner kicks. Buffs lead-in in shots 7-4 and shots on goal 3-1. (Just noticed live stats seems frozen at the 39-40 minute mark, so the stats probably aren't for the full half.)

Brie Hooks did come in at the 31 minute mark, so thankfully it doesn't look like she's injured. A few different Buffs played in the 1st half than normal, so looks like Coach Sanchez may be trying to shake things up a little.

Buffs tie it on a corner kick! Goal to Ward, assist Orejel. (~ 56 minute mark.)

Still tied at the of regulation.

Although the Huskies looked OK late, hope fatigue may play a factor in OT, as they have only played 13 position players so far.

Still tied after the 1st overtime. For the 1st time all match, uw had the better chances, including a couple DANGEROUS shots.

Had to watch on TV today. CU had the desire but lacks creativity in the final third of the field. Oh and they have some talent too. Hope they are able to put it together this season.

From TopDrawerSoccer today 10/9 ...
" If you’re looking for a recruit outside the top 50 who can help bolster a program, you can’t do much better than No. 58 Taylor Kornieck. The lanky central midfielder with Las Vegas Premier is headed to Colorado in 2016, and her experience with the YNT system should considerably shorten her acclimation time to the college game. Her size and physicality should help as well. She’ll be an aerial terror almost immediately, and she’s surprisingly good with her feet considering her height. Colorado is a solid mid-table Pac-12 team with 21 wins since the start of the 2014 season. If Kornieck helps them take the leap to the next level, don’t be surprised."
