The day began with doubles play, and the Buffs duo of sophomore Jeannez Daniel and junior Nuria Ormeno Ruiz defeated Montana State’s Naomi Holopainen and Laura Middel, 8-4, to improve to 2-1 as a duo this fall. CU’s duo of freshman Annabelle Andrinopoulos and sophomore Tina Bokhua are seeded as the No. 6 team and received a bye. ... Later in the day in singles action, four of five Buffs advanced into the second round while Bokhua, the No. 1 seed in the tournament, received a bye into the second round. Andrinopoulos, the No. 12 seed, defeated Nevada’s Monika Magusiak, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 and Ormeno Ruiz, seeded No. 10, blanked Air Force’s Veronica Dodds, 6-0, 6-0. Both advance to 4-0 on the season after both won their draws in the CU Invitational to open the season.
