Did Embree really need to close Spring/Summer camp?

I joked during the offseason, why not close the games too? Maybe he should have. Our expectations might have been more realistic, at least we could be fans. Let's go Embree, lets go Buffs, beat Fresno.

After watching the first two games, I can't imagine what Embree felt he needed to keep secret other than ineptitude. So, if the team executes so well in practice as he claims but can't bring it to the game, what things are different between practice and game day?

1) No fans at practice
2) No press at practice
3) EB on the field at practice

More?

No opponent.

Some pretty sh*tty teams have passed the eyeball test with fans at practice. Usually if you put enough of the fan reports together, every player on the team would find somebody saying they're ready for a breakout year.

As far as Embree keeping the no-huddle secret, it might have helped them get to off to a fast start if they could've executed it as well as they thought they were going to.

Obviously if he was really a smart guy, instead of closing practice to hide what would be our complete ineptitude to the fans (as that's the only logical reason for this given what we've seen), he should of exposed it all so that nobody bought into the wild discussions of bowl games and expecting 1-2 wins would have been accepted already

The disturbing part is that he obviously thought this team was going to be decent to good. He is the one that stated bowl game or bust. I don't think he was trying to hide ineptiude because in his mind there wasn't any.
