AZUSA, Calif. – Ben Saarel led the University of Colorado track and field team to a first place finish in the 1,500-meter run at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday, setting a new personal best and earning a spot on the all-time top performance and all-time performers list at CU.

Saarel finished the 1500 in 3:41.54, placing him seventh on the CU all-time top performances list and fifth on the all-time top performers list. He entered competition this weekend after establishing another top performance at home last weekend. He finished first in the 800-meter run last weekend at Potts Field with a time of 1:51.11.

Garrett Losty also earned fourth place in the 400-meter hurdles after finishing in 53.87, shattering his previous personal record as well.
On the women’s side, the Buffs also found success in the 1500. Melanie Nun earned a third place finish, crossing the finish line in 4:23.48. With the finish, she smashed her own previous personal best of 4:25.50.
