Will anyone still be around to give a **** ?
I'm just in awe that we're probably going to make the same mistake not once, not twice, but three times now. One extra year for Barney, one extra year for Hawk, one extra year for Embree (is my guess at least)
I can't see him making it through another 1-win season.
Next year's schedule is more difficult than this year - at least in the conference.
I'm so depressed right now. Embree is not the man for the job. We don't need another year to find this out.
I'm the wrong guy to ask. I'll be paying zero attention and using my money that goes to Buff football for something worthy
Benson and DiStefano: You are disgraceful. No wonder our academic rating has stagnated with you incompetent clowns in charge.
Depends on who is in charge up there next year. If it's the current "leadership", of course he does. If Benson does leave and somebody who understands the function of an athletic department takes over, there is a decent chance he doesn't....
Don't forget Ricardo Patton
I'd bet on it being just like Hawkins, fired with three games left to go
I'd go with yes
Definitely not gonna get fired 2 games into the conference slate. Maybe he'd get fired if we're absolutely terrible with 1 or 2 games to go.
Who would we hire if we fired him 5 games in? Everybody who can coach is coaching. Interim coaches are dumb.
I'm hoping he never gets the chance to coach a single game next year.
No whammies. No whammies!
Please, dear Regents, make sure the next president sacks diStephano, and restores this Micky Mouse organization back to respectability.
Why would we possibly think they will make a change next year? Embree will probably trip on two wins and those buffoons will shout "progress".
No. I'm guessing MB will quietly be laying the groundwork for a midseason change.
I think he'll be here for the full year and I think it'll be a near repeat of this year.
The excuses are already in place for why he'll stick through the entire year and probably be retained through 2014:
- he just replaced a bunch ACs (assumption), they deserve more time
- they're implementing a new system, that takes time to get the right players recruited
- this is a very young team
- he's a Buff
- he's black
- he's got Mac's backing
- fans are idiots and don't know anything about rebuilding or football
If the admin retains him this year, I think the precedent has been set for what their standards are. 2 wins will be an improvement. Finishing 110th in scoring offense and defense will be an improvement. I'm having a hard time being anything but negative in my thoughts about how this is going to go.
I'm thinking no, but it's going to depend on season ticket #s and attendance. If we see games that hover around the high 30s or lower he's a goner.
As he should be now.
I feel really bad for you all. Your admin is doing some major damage to your program while severing ties with the true fan base. I can't even find the interest to talk **** about your program anymore. All I can think of is...please keep Embree!
There's no reason to fire him midway through the year.
If we keep him around after this catastrophe, I can't see why it would make a difference what the first 2 months of next year would make. Actually, it would prove to me that these idiots are even more stupid and incompetent than I already think they are, if that's possible.
I've never been gone into the off-season as hopeless as I am this year.
I honestly think that Benson would prefer to tear down Folsom to make room for more buildings than spend the money on a real coach and staff.
The only way I see this happening is if we are able to hire some great potential OC or DC guys that could take over mid season to prove themselves right for the job with half a season to show improvement.
