So, this newly minted season ticket holder is meeting friends who he shares tickets with before the game in the parking lot and grilling some dinner. I've heard mention before that DPD can be a big bag of dicks to tailgaters. Any advice? Dos and Donts?

Actually, last year wasn't terrible. The DPD was mostly invisible. The carnage in the parking lot after the game was evidence of a pretty relaxed attitude towards tailgating.

Best advice I can give is to get there when the gates open, find a decent spot, and enjoy the afternoon. Give yourself a minimum of 45 minutes to get into the game, though. While DPD may have chilled somewhat, Argus and stadium security hasn't. There are huge lines to get in the stadium, and they don't bother to fully staff the entry gates.

The only thing that happened last year at our tailgate was the cops came by and they were undercover and ID'd everyone at my tailgate. Just be sure everyone at your tailgate has their ID's on them. Otherwise they left us alone.

Everyone at my tailgate will have 21 grey hairs or more.

Ah gotcha. They came up to our beer pong table and started chatting with us about the game and the tailgate, they looked like they were there for the game, we offered them a beer and they slammed down their badges and asked for ID's. They are sneaky at DPD.

It's usually 4 hours prior to kickoff. There is a mad dash when they open the gates, then about an hour where there isn't anybody around, then the crowds start to get big.

I recommend holding out for the annual bulletin issued by Phil DiStephano.
The admin is pretty good at pointing out what behaviors constitute poor sportsmanship.
