Russian winner really opened it up at the end and smoked everyone. She's still running around like she could go again.

Our girl was out gunned from the start and ended up 9th.

USA won the hottness competition in this race by a mile

    America! **** Yeah!

ps. they went back to the pole dancer competition and the American there is pretty hot too. A giant, but pretty hot.

Emma may have been outgunned since thers were the best steeplechase runners in the world, but she did run a persoinal best today. And that was her goal for this olympics.

Don't know a lot about T&F, especially steeplechase. Isn't Emma fairly young as steeplechasers go. This could be a great experience on her way to being a metal contender in four years.

Yes she is young and yes she can improve for Rio. But the question is .... will she stick with it? Once Jenny Barringer (now Simpson) went pro after her 9th (or was it 8th) place finish in the Steeplechase in Beijing, she ended up switching and is now running the 1500 meter. (By the way, today she squeeked into the final for that)

I saw her run that (Simpson) and she looked beat for awhile there - She then sprinted the last 100 or 200 and barely qualified.

Yep. The steeplechase is not kind to the body long term. It is arguably the toughest event in track and field. I would look for Coburn to look at the 5,000 or 10,000 sooner rather than later.

Of course, not shown in prime time. Asshole NBC. They'd rather have Mary Carillo do some stupid story on British history. Hey, Mary, how about a story about how we kicked their asses in the 1780's?
