To take place in Boston.
Will be interesting. I would have liked a Chicago or a bigger settings that encompasses the Rocky Mountains, but hard to complain. Washington DC was great.
I'm pretty excited for it even tho I've never played the previous ones. I'm one of those jackasses that would buy a remaster immediately if they ever make one for the ps4. My last gen console has seen better days.
You will like it. I like FO3 better than New Vegas - but coming out of the vault and having this wasteland to explore is such a treat
Got my copy this morning, been playing most of the day.
And....? Is it awesome? Did they deviate too far from the formula?
The Green Monster as it appears in the game
Game plays reasonably similar to FO3. The dog can´t be killed this time and you can gain more companions as the story progresses. You can modify weapons with scopes, muzzles etc. and you can also manage your base and build new stuff like beds, huts etc. to get settlers to settle in your settlement. There´s also cooking opportunities to turn your raw materials into something better like soups etc. and the whole inventory management is far more convenient than it was in FO3.
Was watching twitch streams and reddit. UI is crap on PC. Looks like I will buy on PS4 and maybe on PC later down the road for mods.
I've been playing on the PC, mainly for mods will come later.
The controls are horrible on the PC, stunningly bad.
I was excited for the base building, but find it tedious now. The other games you learned to ignore most of the junk. Now you have to carry around hordes of it.
The graphics aren't horrible, but the engine isn't holding up well. The clipping problems are astounding.
All that being said, I love it, just like I live all buggy Bethesda games. The gun modifying is great, the setting is great. I love the Perk tree.
Some of the framerate drops are horrendously bad and make it borderline unplayable at times.
I went with PC at the last minute. No problems with frames but horrible is being kind to the controls on PC. I can't wait for them to release the tools for the mods makers.
I find myself hoarding power armor and basically never using it. Anyone else?
My save files are bugged so I haven´t played in a week.
I use mine a lot
I only played Fallout 1 for a very brief time and looking at the Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas prices on Steam, I'm wondering if anyone really enjoyed Fallout 3/New Vegas?
I loved Fallout 3. I liked Fallout: NV. Most gamers seem to prefer Fallout: NV, as it has a stronger story. I like Fallout 3 cause of the total freedom, which is very similar to Fallout 4.
Pretty deep into Fallout 4 and and bugged out during a main story quest. Fml
join the club. I´ve got a Level 28 character with bugged save files.
Just picked up the DLC. I really dig building/mod robots. You can actually make a companion that can kill something.
Fallout 3 was fun and would be worth it
The latest DLC just made this game feel more complete and I would almost put it as fun as skyrim now. This points out how much DLC sucks and we are buying unfinished games. One of these days they just need to come out and say "Hey we can't make a huge AAA title game for $59.99 anymore." Though that would only work for a very very select list of companies. I paid $109 for Fallout 4 (game + season pass), I wouldn't do that for 98% of other games.
What makes it feel complete?
Two DLC added a ton more questing, fun stuff actually. And Two DLC made settlement building borderline minecraft with good graphics. Also I am teaching myself how to mod the game. It is really awesome when I don't like something about the game I can fire up creation kit and change it.
Just picked up Nuka World, it is a massive map for a DLC
Pretty sweet option in Nuka World, you can smoke all the raider gangs. It was surprisingly satisfying. Damn, dirty raiders.
